Audit Tables by Profile (ttaud3120m000)

Use this session to to define which tables and fields must be audited, and when they must be audited.

Note:
  • The audit functionality uses the positive approach, which means that you can only specify which tables and fields must be audited, but not which tables and fields must not be audited. Therefore, you can zoom to the Load Audit Tables for Profile (ttaud3220s000) session through the appropriate menu to load a list of tables, from which you can delete the tables you do not require.
  • For a detailed explanation of the relation between audit type and field specification, refer to the section How to determine the net result of the audit configuration in the Audit Configuration Management online manual topic.

Note: If you do not select any package(s) and/or module(s) and/or table(s), LN selects one or more of the All check boxes, and sets the Field Selection to All when you save the data.

Field Selection

Select which fields you want to audit. The selection you make in this field, influences the options in the Audit Type field.

You have the following options:

  • All All fields in the selected tables are audited. In the Audit Type field, you must select when you want to audit the fields.
  • Specified Only specified fields are audited. The session selects Not Applicable in the Audit Type field. You must define which fields you want to audit, together with the audit type for these fields in the Audit Fields by Table (ttaud3125m000) session, which you can start through the appropriate menu.
Audit Type

Audit type

The audit type is defined on these levels:

  • Table If you select All in the Field Selection field, the whole table, or range of selected tables, is audited. You must select the audit type for whole tables in the current field.
  • Specified fields If you select Specified in the Field Selection field, only specified fields are audited. In the current field, the session selects Not Applicable. You must define the audit type for the specified fields in the Audit Fields by Table (ttaud3125m000) session, which you can start through the appropriate menu.

This field does not define whether or not inserting a new record is logged. When auditing is active, inserting a new record is always logged.

Active

If this check box is selected, this record is active, which means that the settings in this record are converted to run time when you run the Create Runtime Audit Definitions (ttaud3200s000) session. By default, this check box is selected.

Blocked for Audit Table(s)

If a green indicator is displayed, the package or module contains a table that is blocked for audit, or the table itself is blocked for audit. Consequently, the table is not considered in the audit trail.

Note: Some purely transactional or technical tables are automatically excluded from the audit trail to avoid audit trail issues. For a list of unsupported tables, see KB article 2308393.

In the Print Profiles (ttaud3410m000)session, you can print which tables of the current audit profile are excluded from the audit trail.
