Table Authorizations by Package (ttams3140m000)

Use this session to maintain the database table authorizations at package level per role. This means that the users that are linked to the role can be restricted to specific database actions on records of tables in a specific package.

You can define the database table authorizations for all companies or for a specific company. The authorizations for the specific company have the highest priority in this case.

You can define what actions are permitted for the database table. For example, read, insert, delete, modify, and so on.

The database table authorizations at package level are an exception in the database table authorizations session at company level. You can maintain exceptions to the database table authorizations at package level at the following levels:

  • The module level by using the Table Authorizations by Module (ttams3141m000) session
  • The table level by using the Table Authorizations by Table (ttams3142m000) session
  • The table-data level by using the Table Data Authorizations (ttams3145m000) session

For example, a user linked to the role has authorization to insert. to modify, or to read data in the Distribution package, except for the Sales Order Data module for which the user has no authorization.

You can use the appropriate menu to:

  • Modify the table authorizations for a range of packages
  • Copy a range of table authorizations from the data dictionary in the current role
  • Delete the table authorizations for a range of packages
  • Convert the changes in the database table authorizations to the run-time data dictionary. The database table authorization data of the role is stored in the $BSE/lib/db/<first character of role>/<role>.
