Labels (ttadv1140m000)
Use this session to define labels.
For each label code, you can specify:
- A label description. This is the label text which you can edit and translate.
- The length. This is the number of characters of the description.
- The height. This is the number of lines of the description.
Multiple descriptions for one label
You can define different descriptions for a label.
Field Information
- Language
-
The language for which the labels are defined.
The language for which the labels are defined. To translate a label into another language, you must:
- Copy the label to the other language
- As you work in the other language, translate the description of the label.
- Package
-
The code of the package for which the labels are defined.
Note: Forms, reports and menus of a particular package can only use labels of the same package code. - Label

The label code.
- Height
-
The maximum number of lines of the label description. The maximum value is three lines.
- Length

The number of characters on one line of the label description.
If the height is more than one line, you must specify the length of the longest line.
The maximum value is 70 characters.
- VRC
-
The VRC in which the label is defined.
- Release
-
The VRC in which the label is defined.
- Customer

The VRC in which the label is defined.
- Label Description

The label text that appears where the label is used in forms, reports, and menus.
Use a % sign to indicate the line break. If the description includes a line break, you must specify a height greater than one. To include the % sign in the description, type %%.
- Expired

If this check box is selected, the label has expired.
- Doc
-
If this check box is selected, technical documentation or help information is linked to the label. To create or read the technical documentation or the help information, select the label and choose Text from the
menu. - Search Argument

The label's search argument. The search argument is part of the second index.
Default value
The first 10 characters of the label description, including the % signs.
Tools changes lowercase characters to uppercase characters.
