Use this session to view all details concerning the activity and to define the activity's workflow definition.

Activity Type

An activity represents work to do.

Application

The description or name of the application.

Argument

Specify the argument that must be passed to a program that is to be started. The argument is used by the following activity types:

  • Application Starts an application that must be defined within a component release.
  • File Based (Client) Starts the application on the clientthat is associated with a file and is based on the file extension.

Examples of arguments:

  • A path and file name. For example c:\data\memo.txt
  • A workflow attribute, which at run time is substituted by the actual value of the workflow attribute. To use a workflow attribute in the Argument field, a dollar sign ( $) must be placed in front of the workflow attribute name. For example, c:\data\$filename. Suppose the value of the workflow attribute $filename is memo.txt, then the actual argument that is handed over to the program is c:\data\memo.

The Link description Session/Business Process check box must be cleared to insert a description for the application.

External Business Process Type

You can view the value that you selected in the Business Process Activities (tgbrg5122s000) session.

Receiving External State

In case of an:

Actual business process The external state where the business process waits until the triggered business process is ready.

Answer The external state where the triggered business process must send the answer that it is ready.

Automatic Execution

If this check box is selected, the activity is started automatically on the Workflow Server and is not scheduled to the worklist of employees.

Note: Enabled if the Task Flow check box is cleared and the Execute on Server Execute on Server is selected.
Browse Record

If this check box is selected, it is allowed to browse between records.

Save and Get Defaults

If this check box is selected, it is allowed to save and get defaults.

Start Query

If this check box is selected, it is allowed to use the filter.

Browse Group

If this check box is selected, it is allowed to use the group buttons for browsing between groups.

Rotate Currency

If this check box is selected, it is allowed to rotate currencies.

Start Chart

If this check box is selected, it is allowed to use charts.

Auto Refresh

If this check box is selected, you can set the refresh rate for those sessions that have the auto refresh option enabled.

Text

If this check box is selected, it is allowed to create/modify/read text.

Make Job

If this check box is selected, it is allowed to make a job.

Start Option

Here a startup option can be selected that only applies to ERP sessions.

Specific Option

The specific option that is started at ERP session startup.

User with Least Workload

If this check box is selected, the activity instances are scheduled to the employee that has the least amount of work assigned.

The amount of work is calculated based on the employment percentage and the number of activity instances on his or her worklist.

Make Activity Executor the Process Instance Owner

If this check box is selected, the employee that carries out the activity instance will automatically become its process instance owner.

Activity can be skipped

If this check box is selected, the employee is allowed to skip the activity in the Worklist Handler.

Change Priority allowed

If this check box is selected, the employee is allowed to change the priority of the activity in the Worklist Handler.

Specific Employee Group

If this check box is selected, you can specify an employee group to which the activity instances must be scheduled.

Group Code

The employee group that may have the activity instances scheduled to their worklist.

Process Instance Creator

If this check box is selected, the activity instances are scheduled to the employee that is the creator of the process instance.

The creator of the process instance is the employee that initiated the process instance through the Worklist Handler. During the life cycle of the process instance the creator remains the same.

Process Instance Owner

If this check box is selected, the activity instances are scheduled to the employee that is the owner of the process instance.

The owner of the process instance is the employee that initiated the process instance through the Worklist Handler. During the life cycle of the process instance the owner can change.

Executor-Specific Activity

If this check box is selected, the activity instance is scheduled to the employee that carries out the activity instance that you specified.

Activity Executor

Select an activity (position number) that precedes the current activity. The activity instance may only be scheduled to the employee that carries out the selected activity.

Do not mix up the position number and the external code. The external code is displayed in the enterprise modeler editor the position number is managed internally.

Extended Scheduling

If this check box is selected, the Extended Scheduling tab is enabled.

Number of Users to Execute

The number of employees that need to have carried out the current activity before the activity is removed from the work list of all the employees to whom the activity was scheduled.

Through this functionality you can, for example, do an inquiry that needs a specific number of people to respond.

Percentage of Users to Execute

The percentage of employees that must have carried out the current activity, before the activity is removed from the work list of all the employees to whom the activity was scheduled. The number of employees is derived from the total number of employees that had the activity scheduled to their worklist,

This functionality enables you to do an inquiry that needs a specific percentage of employees to respond.

Elapse Days

The number of days that the instances of the activity must remain on the worklist of the employees.

To calculate the total elapse time add the elapse hours.

If you specify 0 this function is not active.

The number of hours that the instances of the activity must remain on the worklist of the employees.

To calculate the total elapse time add the elapse days.

If you specify 0 this function is not active.

Wfl Attribute with Execution Company

In case of an activity of type application , business process or sending trigger the field contains the workflow attribute that holds the company where to execute the application, business process or triggered business process.

Do Find first

If this check box is selected, a find record is performed at session startup.

Execute on Server

If this check box is selected, the activity is executed on the Workflow Server.

Without the Automatic Execution check box selected the activity is scheduled to the worklist of the employees. An employee must start the activity that then is executed on the workflow server.

If you do not want an employee to receive the activity in his or her worklist select the Automatic Execution check box.

Confirmation needed

If this check box is selected, the employee will be asked a question when closing the activity. The question asks if the activity was carried out succesfully. If not, the employee must answer No, and the activity remains in his or her work list.
