Entity Type Details (tgerm2100s000)

Use this session to display and maintain the entity types.

Entity Type

An object (person, place, thing, or concept) for which you must record information.

LN provides the following entity types:

  • Logical entity type: a meaning to the real world and is comprised of one or more physical entity types.
  • Physical entity type: database tables in the LN application packages.
  • Associative entity type: an entity type that is used to link other entity types.

Version

A group of model items that share some characteristics, such as the customer, owner, and effective date.

Description

The description or name of the version.

Expired

If this check box is selected, the entity type has expired as the version it is in is no longer valid.

Owner Package

The ERP package to which the entity type is related.

Owner Module

The ERP module to which the entity type is related.

Entity Type Category

A division within a system of classification. Most model items can be categorized.

Link to Diagram

The entity-relationship diagram into which an entity type is decomposed. At a different level in the DEM-Tool you can see the entity-type relationship between the current entity type and other entity types.

Example

In the entity-relationship diagram "business function categories" you can view the relationships of the entity type "business function categories" with other entity types. The entity type "business function categories" is however only related to the entity type "business functions".

From this diagram you can zoom to the diagram "business functions" where the relationships of the entity type "business functions" with other entity types are shown. In this diagram you can see that the entity type "business functions" is related to the entity types versions, performance indicators by business function, business diagram annotations, and of course business function categories.

Note: The new entity-relationship diagram must exist before an entity type can be decomposed.
Entity

If this check box is selected, the entity is a physical entity type or a logical entity type related to the ERP package.

Associative Entity Type

If this check box is selected, the entity type is an associative entity-type.

Owner

The login of the owner.

Generation Date

By default, the date on which the entity type was generated. However, any authorized user can change the date into another date.

Text

If this check box is selected, text is available that provides you with further information about the entity type.

Date

The date when the latest change was made to the entity type.

Last Change Time

The time when the latest change was made to the entity type.

User

The login of the user who made the latest change to the entity type.

User

The name of the user who made the latest change to the entity type.
