Save Options tab (My AutoCAD Preferences)

Use this tab to set the preferences related to the various Save options for the PLM files during the AutoCAD integration.
Table 1. Initial Save Option
Preferences Description
Set Object Attribute During Save If this check box is selected, attributes can be defined for the files, documents and items that are saved to PLM.
Specify Manual ID for Documents If this check box is selected, IDs can be specified for the documents manually.
Specify Manual ID for Items If this check box is selected, IDs can be specified for the items manually.
Create Documents Only If this check box is selected, only the document is created when the file is saved to PLM.

Preferences Description
Set Item-ID based on The option used to set the Item ID.
Action to take if Item-ID exists in PLM database The option to determine the action that must be performed when the file is saved in PLM, in case the item ID exists in PLM.
Action to take when same Item-ID is generated for multiple files The option to determine the action that must be performed when the file is saved in PLM, in case same item ID is generated for multiple files.
Table 3. Post Save Process
Preferences Description
Show message on successful save If this check box is selected, a message is dis- played when these actions are completed successfully:
  • Save to PLM
  • Save and Un-lock
  • Check-In
Check In Cleanup The action taken on the files after the Check In. Possible values:
  • Delete File: After Check In, only the root file is deleted from the local system. All other files (in the structure) are set to Read-only and cannot be modified.
  • Make files read-only: After Check In, all the files (in the structure, including the root file) are set to Read-only and cannot be modified, in the local system.
Save and Unlock Cleanup The action taken on the files after the Save and Unlock operation. Possible values:
  • Delete File: Only the root file is deleted from the local system. All other files (in the structure) are set to Read-only and cannot be modified.
  • Make files read-only: All the files (in the structure, including the root file) are set to Read-only and cannot be modified, in the local system.
Table 4. Set Filename based on Document ID during initial save
Preferences Description
Set filename for The option based on which the filename is specified. Possible value:
  • None: Integration skips setting the filename.
  • Main File: Integration sets the main filename based on the document ID.
Generate Document-ID before displaying Set Object Attributes dialog If this check box is selected, Document ID is displayed in the Set Attribute window before the document object is generated, when the object is saved in PLM for the first time.
