Generate Handling Units (whwmd5230m000)

Use this session to generate handling units. You can generate handling units for the following entities:

Inbound

  • Order Line
  • Shipment Notice
  • Receipt
  • Inbound Advice
  • Inspection

Outbound

  • Outbound Advice
  • Inspection
  • Shipping Container, provided that the Shipping Containers in use check box is selected in the Inventory Handling Parameters (whinh0100m000) session.
  • Shipment

To generate handling units, proceed as follows:

  1. Select the entities for which you want to generate handling units. For example, to generate handling units for shipment notices, select the Shipment Notice check box. As a result, the selection range fields of the selected type of record become available.
  2. Specify the ranges for the selected type of record. For example, if you select Shipment Notice, you must specify a range of business partners and shipment notices. As a result, handling units are generated for shipment notices whose business partners and shipment notice numbers match those of the ranges that you specify in this session.
  3. Click Generate.

In addition, you can generate a handling unit for an individual entity, and set up automatic generation of handling units.

Field Information

Outbound Advice

If this check box is selected, handling units are generated for advised outbound lines that match the specified selection ranges.

Inspection

If this check box is selected, handling units are generated for outbound inspection lines that match the specified selection ranges.

Shipment

If this check box is selected, handling units are generated for shipments that match the specified selection ranges.

Generate by Line

If this check box is selected, handling units are generated for the specified lines of the selected records. If this check box is cleared, handling units are generated for all of the lines of the selected records.

Order Line

If this check box is selected, handling units are generated for inbound order lines that match the specified selection ranges.

Include Planned Orders

If this check box is selected, LN will generate handling units for order lines with status Planned as well. For more information, refer to Planned status for warehousing orders and order lines.

Shipment Notice

If this check box is selected, handling units are generated for shipment notices that match the specified selection ranges.

Generate by Line

If this check box is selected, handling units are generated for the specified lines of the selected records. If this check box is cleared, handling units are generated for all of the lines of the selected records.

Receipt

If this check box is selected, handling units are generated for receipts and/or receipt lines that match the specified selection ranges.

Generate by Line

If this check box is selected, handling units are generated for the specified lines of the selected records. If this check box is cleared, handling units are generated for all of the lines of the selected records.

Inbound Advice

If this check box is selected, handling units are generated for advised inbound lines that match the specified selection ranges.

Inspection

If this check box is selected, handling units are generated for inbound inspection lines that match the specified selection ranges.
