Generate Cross-dock Orders and Cross-dock Order Lines (whinh6200m000)

Use this session to generate a range of cross-dock orders and/or cross-dock order lines.

Generating cross-dock order lines

If you select Cross-dock Order Lines, cross-dock order lines will be generated for a range of cross-dock orders. LN will prioritize and sort all cross-dock orders according to their user priority and system priority. LN will then search for inbound order lines within the given selection range that can fulfill the cross-dock orders, starting with the cross-dock order that has the highest priority. The inbound order lines that can (partly) fulfill the cross-dock order are added as cross-dock order lines. First, cross-dock order lines will be created for the already received quantities that are not advised yet. Next, cross-dock order lines are created for the non-received quantities. LN takes into account the planned receipt dates of the inbound order lines, planned delivery dates of the outbound order lines (cross-dock orders) and cross-dock lead time of the item in the warehouse for non-received quantities.

Time window for planned receipt date

On the Generate tab, you can use the Minimum Tolerance and Maximum Tolerance fields to create a time window, which will facilitate matching the planned receipt date of inbound order lines and the planned delivery date of the outbound order line, taking into account the cross-dock lead time that lies between these two dates.

Note: The time window is only taken into account for inbound order lines that must still be received.

Cross-dock Orders

If this check box is selected, you can generate cross-dock orders.

Delete Existing Cross-dock Orders First

If this check box is selected, all cross-dock order lines that are not approved yet and for which nothing is advised yet, will be deleted. These cross-dock order lines have the status Open or Canceled. Next, all cross-dock orders with status Open (and nothing cross-docked yet) or Canceled will also be deleted. New cross-dock orders may be generated, depending on the (inventory) situation of the moment. If the Cross-dock Order Cross-dock Order Lines check box is selected, new cross-dock order lines may also be generated.

Note: Deletion of cross-dock orders and cross-dock order lines will only be done for the entered warehouse range and item range. Any other ranges or options will not be taken into account.
Generate
Always

Cross-dock orders are always generated for the given selection ranges, unless the minimum cross-dock quantity or the maximum cross-dock quantity is not met.

If a minimum cross-dock quantity is defined and the ordered quantity at least equals the cross-dock order quantity, LN will create a cross-dock order.

Time Phased Shortage

Cross-dock orders are generated for the given selection ranges if a time phased inventory shortage occurs for the planned delivery date of the outbound order line. The minimum cross-dock quantity and maximum cross-dock quantity are taken into account.

If a minimum cross-dock quantity is defined and the ordered quantity at least equals the minimum cross-dock order quantity, LN will create a cross-dock order in case of a time-phased inventory shortage at the planned delivery date.

According to Warehouse - Item

LN generates cross-dock orders based on the Cross-dock Order Generation type when Releasing to WH setting in the Item Data by Warehouse (whwmd2110s000) session.

Staging Location

If you enter a specific staging location or range of staging locations, LN will generate only cross-dock orders and cross-dock order lines that will result in the cross-docking to the specified staging location(s).

A staging location can be defined when creating a cross-dock order manually, or it can be determined for every generated cross-dock order. For generated cross-dock orders, the staging location will be the dock location as defined per item and/or business partner in the Warehouse - Dock Locations (whwmd2120m000) session, or, if this location is not defined, the default staging location as defined in the Warehouses (whwmd2500m000) session.
