Using version statuses of a top down budget

You to create multiple budget versions to support the changes in a project. You can use a derived-from or version structure to avoid the duplication of data. A top down budget version is assigned a status to ensure that the current version can be identified easily. The version status can be used when a top down budget is generated.

The status of the top-down budget version can be:

  • Free: The data can be modified.
  • Actual: The data other than the total contract amount, management reserve, and the profit fee, can be modified.
  • Final: The amounts per activity/cost type in the Top Down Budget Data (tpptc5110s000) session cannot be modified.

You can change the status of the top-down budget from Free to Actual only if:

  • No other version with the Actual status exists.
  • No earlier version with the Free status exists.

You can change the status of the top-down budget version from Actual to Final only if no earlier version (in the same project) exists with the status Free or Actual.

Note:
  • When the status of the top-down budget version is modified from Actual to Free, you must clear the value in the Start Time field of the Top-Down Budget Versions (tpptc5500m000)session.
  • When the status of the top-down budget version is modified from Free to Actual, a value must be specified in the Start Time field of the Top Down Budget Versions (tpptc5500m000)session.
  • When the status of the top-down budget version is modified from Actual to Final, for each activity saved in the version, the Budget Status field in the Top Down Budget Data (tpptc5110s000) session is set to Final.
