Copy Element Budget Data (tpptc1245m000)

Use this session to copy data from one element or element range to another element or element range. The source and target element(s) can belong to the same or to different projects. If you copy elements in a project, activities and extensions are also copied. If you copy elements from one project to another, activities and extensions are not included.

Note: You cannot copy elements to a project with a different budget method, check the Budgeting Method field in the Projects (tppdm6100m000) session.

If you want to copy a useful structure to a new project you must enter the source project's top element and the following conditions must be met:

  • The target project cannot have a top element of its own.
  • The complete budget must be copied.
Note:
  • If a material budget line is copied for which a configured generic item is present, the product variant cannot be copied.
  • For PCS items, the product variant is copied only if the budget line is copied within the same project.
  • If you copied a project or a budget, you must run the Customize Items in Budget (tpptc1255m000) session to customize the items on the budget lines of the new project and/or budget.

If the budget line with a PCS item is copied to another project, the PCS item cannot be copied and must be replaced:

  • If the item originates from a configured generic item, the generic item will replace the PCS item in the new project. The item that replaces the PCS item must be present in the Items - Project (tppdm0505m000) session, otherwise the budget line cannot be copied.
  • If the item is derived from a standard item, the standard item will replace the PCS item in the new project. The item that replaces the PCS item must be present in the Items - Project (tppdm0505m000) session, otherwise the budget line cannot be copied.
  • If the item is not derived from a standard or configured item, the budget line is not copied.

Element

If you enter the top element of the source project, this element becomes the top element of the new target project.

However, this happens only if:

  • The target project has no top element.
  • The complete structure is copied.

If the target project already has a top element you can enter any other source element and leave the target top element as it is. The budget lines of this source element and the structure will be copied to the target project, this depends, however, on the Copy field.

Copy Structure Relationships Interactively

If this check box is selected, the session copies the element relationships. LN displays a window in which you must indicate whether you want to copy the element displayed.

You can select this check box only when the Copy field is set to Complete Budget Structure option.

If this check box is not selected, the element and all related elements with their corresponding budget lines are automatically copied.
