Displaying EBOM and PBOM Consistency

You can select the E-item revision and the main (parent) item of the PBOM by clicking the Find Record button. LN shows the data at the time of copying, and the EBOM and PBOM that are the result of the copy process. Any differences between the two are noted with an asterisk (*). LN only checks differences between data that has been copied from an EBOM and thePBOM.

LN checks four questions:

  • Is there any difference between a line of the PBOM copied from the EBOM and the corresponding line of the EBOM (including deletion of the EBOM line)?
  • Have any lines been added to the EBOM, but not to the PBOM?
  • Have any PBOM lines been removed?
  • Are there any differences between the line of the EBOM copy data and the line of the PBOM in the following fields?
    • Engineering Project
    • Main Item
    • Finalized to Position
    • Sequence Number

Example

EBOM copy data for revision 1 is copied to a PBOM, and EBOM copy data for revision 2 is copied to the same PBOM. If you perform the consistency check for revision 1, LN does not notice any difference because it looks at the Finalized to Position field and the Sequence Number field that correspond to the lines for revision 1. EBOM copy data is copied to a PBOM, and a line is manually added to the PBOM. Because this line is not in the EBOM copy data, LN finds no difference.
