Printing Assembly Part Shortage

In the Options field, you can select what you want to print. You must select at least one check box.

  • Select the Print Assembly Part Shortage check box to print a list of assembly parts that have shortages.
  • Select the Print Assembly Orders by Assembly Part Shortage check box to print a list of assembly orders that are related to these shortages.
  • In addition, you can select the Include Blocked Assembly Orders Only check box if you want to print blocked orders only, besides perhaps the assembly parts. This check box has no influence on the list of parts that may be printed. So not-blocked parts may appear on this list, although not-blocked orders are excluded.
Note:
  • The label of the Print Assembly Orders by Assembly Part Shortage check box does not mean that the orders are sorted by Assembly Part. It only says that assembly orders are printed for parts that have shortages.
  • Actually, this list of orders is based on the list of parts. If you print a list of orders, the parts that are required by these orders are always printed too.

The content of the list of parts and/or orders that is printed, is determined by the check boxes and ranges you select, and is governed by the following rules:

  • Only these parts and/or orders are printed that satisfy all date/part/order ranges that apply to them.
  • The ranges of requirement date and assembly part apply both to the list of parts, and the list of orders that are printed.
  • The range of orders applies only to the orders that are printed.
  • LN selects orders based on the selected parts. Therefore, orders that do not require any of the selected parts, cannot be printed, even if these orders fall in the range of orders you selected. So orders are in principle selected, based on the date/part range. The order range can only limit the list of orders, but not extend it.

The sorting of the printed parts and orders depends on which check boxes you select:

  • If the Print Assembly Part Shortage check box is selected, a list of assembly parts is generated, that is sorted by requirement date. This is the standard view of the Assembly Part Shortage (tiasc2540m000) session.
  • If you also select the Print Assembly Orders by Assembly Part Shortage check box, the selected orders are inserted in the list of parts, each time one of their required parts is listed. Note that in this way, the same order can occur several times.
  • If you only selected the Print Assembly Orders by Assembly Part Shortage check box, you can choose to sort by Assembly Part or by Assembly Order.
    • Assembly Part For each combination of requirement date and assembly part, the orders are listed according to the sequence of their numbers. This is the standard view of the Assembly Part Shortage - Assembly Orders (tiasc2545m000) session. Note that now assembly parts are also printed, but that no additional information, as displayed in the Assembly Part Shortage (tiasc2540m000) session, is provided.
    • Assembly Order You now get the reverse. For each combination of requirement date and order(number), the assembly parts are listed in alphabetical order. This is the standard view of the Assembly Order - Assembly Part Shortages (tiasc2546m000) session. Note that now assembly parts are also printed and that additional information, as displayed in the Assembly Part Shortage (tiasc2540m000) session, is provided too, except the Inventory Check Date.
Note:

This session does not generate data itself, but retrieves data from the tables of the Assembly Part Shortage (tiasc2540m000) session and the Assembly Part Shortage - Assembly Orders (tiasc2545m000) session. As a result:

  • The order list you generated, is printed as you generated it, in accordance with the options you used in the Check Inventory (tiasc2240m000) session and/or the Generate Assembly Order Lists for Critical Parts (tiasc2245m000) session.
  • If you did not generate data for these tables, nothing can be printed.
  • If the selected dates/parts/orders fall (partly) outside the ranges of data in these tables, then nothing is printed for the uncovered parts of the ranges.
