Multilevel material shortage check

A multi-level material shortage check is done by LN to check if the projected available quantity. If a material must be supplied by a production order, LN also checks whether the materials for the necessary production order will be available in time. LN recursively checks the availability of lower-level materials.

The Multilevel Shortage check for releasing orders corresponds to the multilevel option for the report. In case shortages appear on supplying production orders, the order will be skipped for release.

In case the Multilevel check is chosen, non-critical items are skipped just like it is done for Capable-to-Promise checks. Thus if item A has non-critical component B, B has critical purchased material C, then C is checked for shortages and B not.

Note: The Multilevel Shortage check detects shortages based on the pegging relations in Enterprise Planning. The pegging relations are defined in the Generate Pegging Relations (cprrp0240m000) or Generate Order Planning (cprrp1210m000) sessions, both these sessions must be up-to-date for accurate data on material shortages.
