Generate Order Block Planning (tisfc0251m000)

Use this session to generate the initial version of the order blocks for a particular combination of machine and order block period. After you generated the order blocks, you can modify the order blocks in the Order Block Planning (tisfc0151m000) session.

Summary

If you run this session, LN takes the following steps:

  1. LN retrieves a set of production orders based on the selection criteria you enter in this session.
  2. Then, LN creates order blocks to group these production orders according to the setup classes and setup states defined for the production order's operations on a particular machine and sorts the order blocks according to the setup state's planning sequence.
  3. LN sorts the production orders in an order block according to the operations' originally planned finish dates.
  4. LN calculates new start times and end times for the production orders and order blocks by means of forward planning.

The first time you run this session for a combination of machine and start date of order block period, LN sets the start date of the first operation at the date and time you specify in the Start Date of Order Block Period field.

You can view the result in the Order Block Planning (tisfc0151m000) session.

Field Information

Site

The site ID.

Note: Only visible if multisite functionality is active.

Machine

The machine on which the order block's production orders are produced.

First Setup Class

The first setup class on which this session bases the division of production orders over order blocks.

Second Setup Class

An additional setup class to determine the division of production orders over order blocks.

Third Setup Class

An additional setup class to determine the division of production orders over order blocks.

Fourth Setup Class

An additional setup class to determine the division of production orders over order blocks.

Start Date of Order Block Period

The date that you designate as the date on which the machine must start the work on the order blocks that this session generates. This date identifies a set of order blocks in the Order Block Planning (tisfc0151m000) session.

LN uses the value of the Start Time field in the Calendar Working Hours (tcccp0120m000) session to determine the time when a machine is available to start executing operations.

If you generate the order blocks, LN recalculates the start times and end times of all relevant operations of the selected production orders. in such a way, that the machine completes the work for all these production orders consecutively.

Allowed values

The start date of the order-block period must differ from the start date of all other order-block periods.

Freezing Time

This field determines how LN handles order blocks that you generated earlier. LN does not modify order blocks that are expected to start before the freezing time.

To regenerate all order blocks, enter a value that is far in the future. In that case, LN will discard all existing order blocks.

To keep some of the existing order blocks that are about to start, or have started already, enter a value shortly after the start time of the last existing order block that you want to keep.

Note: this field affects only the order blocks of which the Start Date of Order Block Period field equals the Start Date of Order Block Period field in this session. Order blocks for other order-block periods are never removed by this session. To remove order-block planning data for other order-block periods, use the Purge Order Block Planning (tisfc0251m100) session.

Block Number Step Size

The step size for the values of the Block Sequence Number field in the Order Block Planning (tisfc0151m000) session.

For example, if the step size is 25, the sequence numbers are set to 25, 50, 75, 100, and so on.

Enter a step size that is sufficiently large to enable you to insert new order blocks between other order blocks and to split order blocks.

Update Standard Planning

Updates start times and end times displayed in the Production Planning (tisfc0110m000) session.

For the selected order blocks, this command updates the production orders of the selected order block and the subsequent order blocks.

Production Order

The first of the range of production orders for which this session generates order blocks.

Production Order

The last of the range of production orders for which this session generates order blocks.

Order Status

The first of the range of production order statuses that this session uses to select the relevant production orders.

Allowed values

Select one of the following statuses:

  • Created
  • Printed
  • Released
  • Active

Planned Finish Date

The first of the range of planned finish dates of the operations that this session uses to select the relevant production orders.

LN always takes an operation's originally planned finish date into account and ignores any manual changes that may have occurred in the operation's planned finish date.

For more information, refer to the Help of the Original PlannedFinish Date field in the Production Orders by Block (tisfc0152m000) session.

Planner

The first of the range of planners that this session uses to select the relevant production orders.
