BOM Line - Material-Routing Relationships (tibom0140s000)

Use this session to define and maintain material-routing relationships. These relationships are used to determine on which routing operation a material must be present on the job shop.

For a manufactured item, you can define multiple routings. Every routing consists of a different series of operations. You can use this session to determine for every routing on which operation a specific material must be present on the job shop.

In the Bill of Material (tibom1110m000) session, you must specify for a BOM line on which operation the material of the BOM line is issued to the job shop:

  • If you enter zero (0) in the Operation field, the BOM Line - Material-Routing Relationships (tibom0140m000) session is used to determine on which operation the material is issued. If no material-routing relationship exists, the material is issued at the first operation.
  • If you enter a value other than zero (0) in the Operation field, for example, 10, the material is issued at operation 10. This operation applies to all routings that are defined for the manufactured item. If the operation does not exist for the manufactured item's routing(s), the BOM line material is issued at the first operation of the routing.
Note:
  • Material-routing relationship information is used in Enterprise Planning, the Standard Cost Calculation module, and job shop order generation.
  • You can start this session from a BOM line in the GBF browser for item engineering data. The GBF browser is invoked from the Item Engineering Data (GBF) (tiipd0203m000) session. You can start the BOM Line - Material-Routing Relationships (tibom0140m000) session from the Bill of Material (tibom1110m000) session.

Field Information

Main Item

item

Position

The component's BOM position number.

/

The BOM sequence number is a subdivision of the component item's BOM position number. If you create orders for a manufactured item, only the material with the lowest sequence number is taken into account.

Routing

A routing that can be used to produce the main item. You can define one or more routings for an item in the Item - Routings (tirou1101m000) session.

Operation

The routing operation at which the BOM line's item must be issued to the job shop.

More than one routing can be available to produce an item. The operation at which a material is issued can differ for the various routings.
