cross validation rule

Version

The validation rule version. LN generates the version numbers.

Status
Draft

The status of a newly created cross validation rule.

A rule with status Draft cannot be used yet.

Active

The status of a cross validation rule after it was released.

A rule with this status can be used to determine the validity of entered ledger account / dimension combinations.

The status of a cross validation rule can only be changed from Draft to Active if all mandatory fields were entered and rule elements were defined.

Closed

The status of a cross validation rule after it has been closed.

A rule with status Closed can no longer be used.

Effective Date

Expiry Date

Line

The line number of the rule element.

Rule Type

For each rule element, select either of the following:

  • Exclude

All combinations are allowed (default), except for the range of combinations specified.
  • Include

No combinations are allowed, except for the range of combinations specified.
Note: Rule elements of type Exclude always relate to rule elements of type Include. Therefore, it is pointless to define an Exclude element outside the range of an Include element. In short, Exclude elements always override Include elements.
From Ledger Account

The first ledger account code in the range of ledger accounts.

To Ledger Account

The last ledger account code in the range of ledger accounts.

Parent Ledger Account

Instead of a range of ledger accounts, you can specify a parent ledger account. Consequently, the rule element will apply to all its children and grandchildren.

From Dimension

The first dimension code in the range of dimensions.

To Dimension

The last dimension code in the range of dimensions.
