AR Turnover Ratio

The accounts receivables turnover ratio is an accounting measure used to quantify a company's effectiveness in collecting its accounts receivable, or the money owed by customers. This ratio measures how well a company uses and manages the credit it provides to customers and how quickly that short-term debt is collected or paid. A company that is efficient at collecting its owed payments has a higher accounts receivable turnover ratio.

Days Inventory Outstanding

Days inventory outstanding (DIO) is a working capital management ratio that measures the average number of days a company holds inventory before converting it to sale. The lower the number, the shorter the period that cash is held by inventory and the lower the risk of inventory becoming obsolete. Days inventory outstanding is also known as days sales of inventory (DSI) and days in inventory (DII).

DIO formula:

DIO = average inventory / cost of goods sold * number of days
