PLM Project Administration

Projects are the principal means to organize work in PLM. The General Administrator must determine details of all projects that are to be managed by PLM.

Initially, all objects are associated with a particular project. However, users of other projects can be authorized to access the object. This option makes it possible to maintain a set of standard drawings or item details, which is required for many projects. Users can be authorized to more than one project with varying levels of authorizations. The General Administrator can authorize users as Project Managers for specific projects.

The project attributes include the delegation setting for all user groups in the project. This determines the behavior of group tasks in all workflows within the project. The parameters, which determine the effect of check-in and check-out on linked objects, are defined for each project.

In Infor PLM for Discrete, all the data is organized within the projects. Design data such as documents and items are associated with specific projects, and users involved in the project are authorized as project users. Each user in a Project is assigned a Role and this Role controls the authorizations of the user in that Project.

PLM Projects are created using PLM Projects (pdadm3500m000) session.
