Workflow template management

Workflow templates allow specific types of business processes to reuse similar workflows. More than one workflow template can be defined for the same business process type.

Each workflow template defines the route for any business process that uses the template, and it includes the specific steps and tasks which must be performed as part of the process.

The workflow stages include:

  • Tool steps, which are performed by PLM such as, Check-in and Check-out.
  • System steps, which enables automating customer's own scripts.
  • Tasks, which are either user tasks or group tasks.

The workflow for a new business process is based on one of the workflow templates defined for the business process type. The workflow can be edited as required. You can define additional attributes, assign users and groups to tasks, add or remove steps and tasks, and attach objects.
