Sales process (challan)

Sales orders are used to sell and deliver items or services to a business partner under certain terms and conditions. Sales orders can result from a variety of sources, such as Contracts, Quotations, EDI, and Planning. In Sales, you can create and modify orders.

After approval, a sales order is a legal obligation to deliver items according to the agreed terms and conditions, including specific prices and discounts.

The transportation of goods may or may not result in sales. Either a delivery challan or a tax invoice is mandatory to move the goods. In case tax invoice is not required, delivery challan is an option and can be created for a shipment (line).

When the goods associated with the same shipment line can be shipped in multiple vehicles, a delivery challan must be created for each vehicle (this is supported only for knock down scenario where quantity cannot be split into multiple shipment lines). The delivery challan can be created even after the confirmation of shipment.
