Creating a return sales order

If the stock is required to be returned, create a return sales order manually to retrieve the stock.

The return sales order process involves two sales orders.

  • One sales order is used to support the shipment invoice that is used to move the owned stock to a third-party stock.
  • The other sales order is used to support the invoice collection, moving the stock from third parties to the customer. This requires a return order for each original order.

To execute the return sales order:

  1. Access the Sales Order Intake Workbench (tdsls4601m200) session and click New. The Sales Order (tdsls4100m900) session is displayed.
  2. Select the business partner in the Business Partner field and press Tab.
    Note: Infor LN populates the data related to the selected business partner.
  3. Select the sales order type for reversal invoice EST (Reversal Invoice) in the Order Type field.
  4. Select References > Sales Order Details. The Sales Orders (tdsls4100m000) session opens.
  5. Specify the original order details, the reason for return in the Return Reason field of the Returns section and click Save.
  6. Select Actions > Copy from Original Document to copy the order lines from the original order. The Sales Order Invoice Lines (tdsls4106m100) session is displayed.
  7. Select the order line of the original sales order and click Save changes and exit. The Remarks during Copy Sales Order report is displayed.
  8. Verify that the order line is added to Order Lines tab in the Sales Order (tdsls4100m900) session.
  9. Click the Approve button to approve the sales order and execute the order line activities.
  10. Select the order line on the Order Lines tab and click References > Status . The Sales Order Line Status (tdsls4534s000) session opens.
  11. Review the order line activities and click Execute to release the sales order to Warehousing.
  12. Select References > View > Lines Monitor in the Sales Order (tdsls4100m900) session. The Sales Order Lines - Monitor (tdsls4510m000) session is displayed.
  13. Verify that the sales order displays in the Linked Object field and click Open Object. The Inbound Line Status Overview (whinh2119m000) session is displayed.
  14. Select Actions > Receive. The Warehouse Receipt (whinh3512m000) session opens.
  15. Select the receipt line on the Lines > Receipt tab and click Confirm.
    Note: The physical receipt is performed without creating a fiscal note.
  16. Verify that the warehouse receipt number is updated in the Document Number field of the Release Sales Orders to Warehousing activity in the Sales Order Line Status (tdsls4534s000) session.
  17. Click Execute to release the sales order line to Invoicing.
  18. Access the Invoicing 360 (cisli3600m000) session, select the billable line of the sales order on the Billable Lines tab and click Actions > Compose Invoice. The Invoice Status is updated to Ready to Print.
  19. Select the invoice line on the Invoices > Invoice Data and click Actions > Submit to External Invoicing . The Invoice Status is automatically updated to Approved by External System.
