Creating a sales order

To create a sales order for the closed warehouse, execute these steps:

  1. Access the Sales Order Intake Workbench (tdsls4601m200) session and click New. The Sales Order (tdsls4100m900) session is displayed.
  2. Select the business partner in the Business Partner field of the Sold-to BP section and press Tab.
    Note: Infor LN populates the default data for the selected business partner in the other fields of the sales order header.
  3. Select the order type for sales order in the Order Type field, sales office in the Sales Office field, the order series in the Number field of the Control section.
    Note: Verify that the department selected in the Sales Office field indicates the factory and the warehouse to where the products are shipped is the general warehouse.
  4. Click New on the Order Lines tab, select the purchased item in the second segment of the Item field, and specify the quantity of the item in the Ordered Quantity field.
    Note: Verify that the default price of the item is updated in the Price field.
  5. Click Go to Details for the order line on the Order Lines tab. The Sales Order Lines (tdsls4101m000) session is displayed.
  6. Select the general warehouse in the Warehouse field of the Item section on the Item tab and click Save changes and exit.
  7. Click Approve option in the Sales Order (tdsls4100m900) session to approve the sales order. The Picking List by Location report is generated.
  8. Verify that the sales order line is selected on the Order Lines tab and click References > Status. The Sales Order Line Status (tdsls4534s000) session is displayed.
  9. Review the order line activities and verify the sales order is automatically released to Warehousing.
  10. Select References > View > Lines Monitor in the Sales Order (tdsls4100m900) session. The Sales Order Lines - Monitor (tdsls4510m000) session is displayed.
  11. Verify that your sales order displays in the Linked Object field and click Open Object. The Outbound Line Status Overview (whinh2129m000) session opens.
  12. Verify that all the outbound activities are automatically executed and the Shipped quantity is updated in the Quantities In Inventory Unit section.
  13. Verify that the shipment number is updated in the Document Number field of the Release Sales Orders to Warehousing activity in the Sales Order Line Status (tdsls4534s000) session.
  14. Verify that the sales order is automatically released to Invoicing.
