Creating subassemblies
You can create the subassemblies in these master data setup sessions:
- Reference Activity - Subassemblies (tsacm2150m000)
- Planned Activity - Subassemblies (tsspc2150m000)
Subassemblies for reference activities
The subassemblies for a reference activity can be created and maintained in the Reference Activity - Subassemblies (tsacm2150m000) session. To add subassemblies to a reference activity, you can use the Subassemblies option in the Reference Activity session. To create subassemblies for a reference activity, you must:
- Select the Repair Center check box in the General Service Parameters (tsmdm0100m000) session and the Use Subassemblies in Work Orders check box in the Work Order Parameters (tswcs0100m000) session.
- Set the value for the Activity Use field to Depot Repair and specify the Item in the Reference Activity session.
The subassemblies on the reference activity are always processed manually. When you create a copy of the existing reference activity, the application displays a message, click 'Yes' to copy the linked subassemblies.
Subassemblies for planned activities
The subassemblies for a planned activity can be created manually and maintained in the Planned Activity - Subassemblies (tsspc2150m000) session. To add subassemblies to a planned activity, you can use the Subassemblies option in the Planned Activities (tsspc2100m000) session.
You can also add subassemblies to a planned activity by specifying a Reference Activity with subassemblies in the Planned Activities (tsspc2100m000) session. The application displays a message, click 'Yes', to copy all the subassemblies linked to the reference activity, to the planned activity.
To create subassemblies for a reference activity, you must:
- Select the Repair Center check box in the General Service Parameters (tsmdm0100m000) session and the Use Subassemblies in Work Orders check box in the Work Order Parameters (tswcs0100m000) session.
- Set the value for the Activity Use field to Depot Repair and specify the Item in the Planned Activities (tsspc2100m000) session.
The Copy Planned Activities (tsspc2280m000) session is used to create a copy of an existing planned activity. You can access this session using the Copy Planned Activities option in the Planned Activities (tsspc2100m000) session. You must select the Subassemblies check box in the Copy Planned Activities (tsspc2280m000) session to copy the subassemblies linked to the existing planned activity.
Transferring planned activities to depot repair
The Transfer Planned Activities to Depot Repair (tsspc2220m100) session is used to transfer a planned activity to depot repair. You can access this session using the Transfer to Depot Repair option in the Planned Activities (tsspc2100m000) session. The option is enabled only if the planned activity Status is set to Released. When a planned activity is transferred to depot repair, a maintenance sales order, or a work order, or both are created and the subassemblies linked to the planned activity are copied to the work order. The Status of the planned activity is set to Transferred.
Subassemblies for work orders
These methods to add subassemblies to a work order:
Manually
The outgoing subassemblies can be added using the Outgoing Subassemblies option in the Work Orders (tswcs2100m000) session.Using the reference activity specified on a maintenance work order activity
When a work order activity is created and the Reference Activity is specified, the application adds the subassemblies linked to the reference activity, to the work order activity. If you change the reference activity, the subassemblies on the work order activity are updated.Transferring a planned activity to depot repair
When a planned activity is transferred to depot repair, a maintenance sales order - part maintenance line is created with a related work order. Alternatively, an internal work order can also be generated without a maintenance sales order - part maintenance line. In both scenarios, the subassemblies created for the planned activity are added to the work order.
