To see project amounts in different currencies
In Project sessions that contain amounts in the project currency or in another currency, you can see the amount in the following currencies:
- The project currency or the other currency in which you entered the amount
- The home currencies of the financial company.
The amount in the project currency or other currency is usually followed by two fields that show:
- The home currency code.
- The amount in the home currency.
In many sessions, the currency rate and the corresponding rate factor between the other currency and the displayed home currency are also shown.
To use the Rotate Currency command
If the amounts in a multicurrency system are available in more than one currency, you can use Rotate Currency to see the amount in each of the home currencies in turn.
Depending on the type of session you can:
- Click Rotate Currency in a details session.
- In the Tools menu of an overview session, click Rotate Currency.
- Press CTRL + R, in an overview session or a details session.
If the project currency is different from the three home currencies, Rotate Currency shows the amounts in all four currencies in overview sessions of:
- Project Monitoring (PPC).
- Performance measurement.
- Time Phased Budgets.
If the session already shows the amount in all the currencies in which it is available, you cannot use the Rotate Currency button. This is the case, for example, if the financial company uses only one currency, or if the project currency is the same as the one home currency.
Report currency You can usually select the report currency when you print project reports. The report currency can be any of the currencies defined for the logistic company in which you work.
The following restriction applies to reports printed in the Project Definition module.
Report currencies in the Project Data Management (PDM) module
When you enter the cost amounts of standard cost objects in the Project Definition module, the financial company is not known. The financial company is first known when you define a project and select an enterprise unit for it.
For this reason you cannot use a wide range of currencies when you print Project Master Data reports.
Depending on the logistic company's currency system you can select the following report currencies in the Project Definition module:
- Single currency system: the logistic company's reference currency
- Dependent currency system: the currencies defined in the Currencies (tcmcs0102m000) session in Common
