To use labor rates

Budget labor rate: The budget labor rate search path determines the cost and sales rates that are used in the budget lines and in hours registration. This is specified in the Projects (tppdm6100m000) session.

  • Labor cost and sales rates: standard labor rates as defined in the Task (tppdm0111s000) and Project Task (tppdm6111s000) sessions.
  • Trade group cost and sales rates: labor rates associated with trade groups as defined in the Trade Group (tppdm0130s000) session.
  • Project-specific cost and sales rates: project-specific wage rates as defined in the Projects (tppdm6100m000) session.

The default labor rate used is that which is defined as the Level 1 labor rate. If this is not available, Level 2 is used, and if this is not available, Level 3 is used. For example, if you define Labor as the Level 1 labor rate, then the standard labor rates are used in the labor lines of the actual budget. If you have not defined standard labor rates, then the Level 2 labor rate is used: this can be either Trade Group or Project.

Hours registration labor rate The wage rate for hours registration search path is what determines which of the following cost and sales rates are used in People and Project:

  • Employee: employee-specific labor rates.
  • Labor: standard rates defined in the Task (tppdm0111s000) and Project Task (tppdm6111s000) sessions.
  • Trade group: labor rates associated with trade groups as defined in the session Trade Group (tppdm0130s000).
  • Project: project-specific wage rates as defined in the session Projects (tppdm6100m000).

The default wage rate is defined as the Level 1 labor rate. Use the session Projects (tppdm6100m000) to determine the contents of the wage rate levels.
