Generate Cost Forecast by Cost Object (tpppc2216m000)

Use this session to generate the cost forecast lines.

This session fills the records in the detail sessions of Cost Forecast Overview (tpppc2816m000):

  • Material Cost Forecast (tpppc2516m000)
  • Labor Cost Forecast (tpppc2536m000)
  • Equipment Cost Forecast (tpppc2556m000)
  • Subcontracting Cost Forecast (tpppc2576m000)
  • Sundry Cost Forecast (tpppc2596m000)

The forecast is based on the following fields in the Project Accounting Parameters (tpppc0100s000) session:

  • Use Commitments as Basis for Forecast
  • Leading Forecast Method

Field Information

Material

If this check box is selected, LN generates cost forecast for the material cost type.

Labor

If this check box is selected, LN generates cost forecast for the labor cost type.

Equipment

If this check box is selected, LN generates cost forecast for the equipment cost type.

Subcontracting

If this check box is selected, LN generates cost forecast for the subcontracting cost type.

Sundry Cost

If this check box is selected, LN generates cost forecast for the sundry cost type.

Generate Empty Forecast

If this check box is selected, the forecast is calculated with budget as base. The forecast amounts are deleted in the relevant detail sessions by cost type.

Use this option to:

  • Enter the first forecasts in the forecast lines.
  • If you use the estimate to complete method and must set it to zero at the projects' finish.
Generate from Previous Date

If this check box is selected, the previous date's data is generated as lines for the actual date and the budget amount is entered in the Generate Cost Forecast by Activity/Cost Type (tpppc2226m000) session.

Include Actual Cost only

If this check box is selected, LN checks if any actual cost lines are available for which a forecast must be generated for the previous date.

Note: This field is enabled only if the Generate from Previous Date check box is selected.
Generate Empty Forecast

If this check box is selected, the forecast amounts are emptied in the equivalent detail sessions of the Generate Cost Forecast by Activity/Cost Type (tpppc2226m000) session.

Use this option if you want to:

  • Enter the first forecasts in the forecast lines.
  • If you use the estimate to complete method and want to set it to zero at the projects' finish.
Include Actual Cost only

If this check box is selected, LN checks if any actual cost lines are available for which a forecast must be generated.

Note: For example, If both the Generate from Previous Date and Include Actual Cost only check box are selected, a forecast line is generated based on the actual cost lines that are available, if there is no forecast data. Consequently, the Estimate at Completion (EAC) and the Actual cost are similar and the Estimate to Complete (ETC) is zero.
Generate from Budget

If this check box is selected, the budget is used to generate the forecast data by cost type. You can also modify the forecast amount.

Note: This field is enabled only if the Leading Forecast Method is set to Estimate to Complete or Estimate at Completion in the Project Accounting Parameters (tpppc0100s000) session.
Include Actual Cost only

If this check box is selected, LN checks if any actual cost lines are available for which a forecast data by cost type must be generated.

Note: This field is enabled only if the Generate from Budget check box is selected.
Registration Date

The date for which forecast will be generated.

Labor Type

The labor type is used for the forecast records of the cost type Labor that are generated.

Add Percentage

The percentage by which the calculated forecast amount must be increased or decreased.

Note: 
  • The default is 0%, however, you can specify a value from -99% to 999%.
  • This field is disabled if the Generate Empty Forecast check box in the Forecast as Base or Budget as Base sections is selected.
