Projects 360 (tppdm6500m100)

Use this session.to perform project related tasks and to retrieve project-related data. You can view and maintain project information such as the project manager, the hierarchy type, the planning method and the budgeting method information.

How to use the Project 360 (tppdm6500m100) session

Select a project from the Project list. The project details such as the project cost, revenue, budget, estimate and so on are displayed in the boxes at the top of the session.

To view the project details, select a project from the list.

The check marks indicate which data is available for the selected project. If you click a link, a session starts which you can use to view, maintain, or create the project data.

You can click the following links, or click the corresponding commands in the References menu:

  • Contract

    Starts the Contract Lines (tpctm1110m000) session. Use this session to create and maintain contract line data for the project linked to a contract.
  • Extensions

    Starts the Project Extensions (tpptc0510m000) session. Use this session to list the selected project's extensions, which you can define and modify in the Extension (tpptc0110s000) details session.
  • Structures

    You can define an element structure or an activity structure for the project depending on the settings in the user profiles. For this session, however, the structures you can maintain depend on the Budget by field. If the field is set to Element, the Elements (tpptc1100m000) session opens. If the field is set to Activity, the Activities (tppss2100m000) session opens.
  • Milestones

    Starts the Milestones (tppss2101m000) session. Use this session to maintain the activity milestones for the project.
  • Costing Breaks

    Starts the Costing Breaks (tppdm3600m000) session. Use this session to create costing breaks for the project.
  • Contract Link to Structure

    Starts the Contract Link to Project Structure (tpctm0160m000) session. Use this session to link contract lines (CLINs) to the project structure (element/activity). You can link multiple contract lines to a project. However, you can link a specific project peg (element/activity) to only one contract line. This session also indicates if costs are incurred and revenues booked on the project peg.
  • Estimate

    Starts the Estimate Lines (tpest2100m000) session. Use this session to maintain and display the estimate lines. The columns that are maintained in this session are available based on the settings in the User Profile (tppdm0101s000) session. The estimate lines which are displayed depend on the estimate version selected.

    Following is the order of priority in which the estimate version is selected:

    1. Check for a bid that has the status Accepted, and show the estimate lines for that corresponding version.
    2. Check if an estimate version has some or all lines launched to budget and display that estimate.
    3. Select the latest estimate version based on the version Creation Date.
  • Budget Cost Analysis

    Starts the Budget Cost Analysis Versions (tpptc3500m000) session. Use this session to list details of the budget-cost analysis for the selected project.
  • Top Down Budget

    Starts the Top Down Budget Versions (tpptc5500m000) session. Use this session to list the current top down budget versions for the selected project, and display a summary of the details.
  • Bottom Up Budget

    Starts the Activity Budget session for cost objects. Use this session to list budget lines with a cost-type for the selected plan, activity, and project in an activity budget.
  • Time Phased Budget

    Starts the Time Phased Budget (Planned Value by Period) (tpptc5521m000) session. Use this session to display the generated planned value of an activity by period for a selected project and analysis code. The session also displays the project budget version and baseline for which the planned value is generated.
  • Purchase and Warehouse Orders

    Starts the Order Line Balance (Material) (tppss6500m000) session. Use this session to see the ordering flow from budget to final delivery. All the orders for the selected project including the purchase order advice / order, warehouse orders, request for quotations for purchase for Material, Equipment, and Subcontracting, which are open and yet to be received are displayed. Note: Peg distribution lines specified in Order Management and Warehousing are not displayed in this session.
  • Service Orders

    Starts the Service Order Links by Project (tppss6520m000) session. Use this session to list and display the service orders linked to the project.
  • Progress

    The progress for the project is registered either on elements or activities and depends on the field Control by. If this field is set to Element, the Element Physical Progress (tpppc1550m000) session opens. If the field is set to Activity, the Activity Physical Progress (tpppc1560m000) opens.
  • Cost Transactions

    Starts the Cost Transactions (tpppc2100m000) session. Use this session to view and maintain the cost transactions of all cost types for projects. Only those transactions that add costs to the project are displayed.
  • Cost Control

    Starts the relevant session, based on the settings specified in the Map/Session Options by User (tppdm0102m000) session, to monitor the projects that are executed. The actual cost control is aggregated at the project level. This is one in a range of sessions that are available in the Monitoring module for projects. Each of the sessions provides a different level of detail.
  • Commitments

    Starts the relevant Commitment session, based on the settings specified in the Map/Session Options by User (tppdm0102m000) session , to record the commitments for a project.
  • Financial Analysis Graph

    Starts the Display Financial Analysis (tppss0701m000) session. Use this session to create a graph of the progression of costs and revenues during the project execution time.
  • Performance Measurement

    Starts the Performance Measurement Activity (tpppc5540m000) session. Use this session to display performance measurement amounts of the project. Four levels of measurement are available, namely, activity, activity/cost type, project OBS and OBS/cost type. Performance measurement can also be generated against the old baseline and old version.
  • Revenue Transactions

    Starts the Revenue Transactions (tpppc3505m000) session. Use this session to to list a history of revenues. This includes invoice data and posting data.
  • Production Orders

    Starts the Project Peg - Production Orders (tisfc0105m300) session, if project pegging is implemented. Use this session to view the production order distribution lines by project.
  • Borrow/Loan

    Starts the Borrow/Loan Workbench (whinh1146m100) session. Use this session to view the borrow/ loan records created for the specific cost peg transfer order line.
  • Cost Entry

    Starts the Cost Entry (tpppc2605m000) session. Use this session to view and maintain the cost entries of the material, labor, equipment, subcontracting, and sundry costs, specified for the project.
  • Cost Forecast Entry

    Starts the Cost Forecast Entry (tpppc2615m000) session. Use this session to view and maintain the cost forecast entries for the material, labor, equipment, subcontracting, overhead, and sundry costs, specified for the project.
Note: 
  • The amounts shown in the Revenues and Costs sections are net amounts, that is, amounts without tax.
  • You can select a Project to view the Budget, Commitments, ETC and Actuals data for a Project in a graphical format, in the Budget vs. Forecast group box.

Project Manager

The employee who is the manager for the project.

Description

The description or name of the code.

Project Management Office

The code of the project management office.

The description or name of the code.

Estimate/Budget
Estimate

The estimate for the project.

Budget

The budgeted amount for the project.

Budget Number of Hours

The number of labor hours budgeted for the project.

Revenues
Revenues

The revenues of the project that are posted to the history for all periods up to the current one.

Forecast Extra Revenues

The additional revenue that is forecast for the end of the project and is anticipated at the end of the current period.

Received From Customer

The amount received from the customer against sales invoices. This is the amount displayed in the Invoice-to Business Partner Open Entries (tfacr2520m000) session in Financials .

Note: The Supplier payment is a settlement against this open entry and not against a specific invoice line. An open entry comprises many invoice lines which may or may not be linked to the same project. Hence, the amount overdue on a project cannot be determined correctly until the received amount information against the specific invoice line is stored in LN Financials .
Customer Outstanding

The amount due to the customer to be paid against the sales invoices. This is the amount displayed in the Invoice-to Business Partner Open Entries (tfacr2520m000) session in LN Financials .

Note: The Supplier payment is a settlement against this open entry and not against a specific invoice line. An open entry comprises many invoice lines which may or may not be linked to the same project. Hence, the amount overdue on a project cannot be determined correctly until the received amount information against the specific invoice line is stored in Financials .
Total Revenues

The total revenue registered for the project.

Progress
Earned Value

Displays the costs/quantities that are so far allowed (Earned Value).

The performed are calculated as follows:


                        performed = actual progress * budget
Note: 
  • For exceptions on this calculation see: How LN calculates the performed.
  • If the project is linked to multiple contract lines with different contract types, Infor LN considers each contract line to determine the earned value. For contract line with Fixed Price contract type, the actual overhead cost is not added to the earned value. The earned value is calculated using the formula: Budget * Progress.
Progress

The progress percentage of the top activity for the project. The value in this field is based on the project activity with the least progress percentage for the project.

Costs
Commitments

The commitments booked for the project.

Costs

The costs incurred for the project.

Cost Forecast

The additional cost forecast for the end of the project that is anticipated at the end of the current period.

Total Costs

The total costs incurred for the project. The total cost calculation depends on the value specified for the Leading Forecast Method in the Project Accounting Parameters (tpppc0100s000) session.

  • If the value in the Leading Forecast Method is set to Estimate at Completion, the Total Cost calculation is:
Project forecast cost = Project forecast cost + Overhead forecast at completion
Total costs = Project forecast cost
  • If the value in the Leading Forecast Method is set to Estimate to Complete, the Total Cost calculation is:
Project forecast cost = Project forecast cost + (Overhead forecast at completion – Overhead Actual Cost)
Total costs = Project actual cost + Project forecast cost
  • If the value in the Leading Forecast Method is set to Estimated Extra Costs, the Total Cost calculation is:
Project forecast cost = Project forecast cost + Overhead forecast at completion
Total costs = Project budget + Project forecast cost
Cost Variance

The cost variance for the project.

The cost variance is calculated as follows:

variance = performed - actuals
Variance at Completion

The cost VAC (Variance at Completion).

Outstanding to Supplier

The amount due to the supplier to be paid against the purchase invoices. This is the amount displayed in the Invoice-to Business Partner Open Entries (tfacr2520m000) session in LN Financials .

Note: The Supplier payment is a settlement against this open entry and not against a specific invoice line. An open entry comprises many invoice lines which may or may not be linked to the same project. Hence, the amount overdue on a project cannot be determined correctly until the received amount information against the specific invoice line is stored in Financials .
Paid to Supplier

The amount paid to the supplier against purchase invoices. This is the amount displayed in the Invoice-to Business Partner Open Entries (tfacr2520m000) session in LN Financials .

Actual Number Hours

The number of labor hours spent on the project.

Note: The hours are displayed only if the Cost Control checkbox of the Cost Control Level Project/Cost Type is selected in the Project - Cost Control Levels (tppdm6102m000) session and is updated using the Build Actual Cost Control (tpppc4803m000) session.
Forecast Hours

The number of forecasted labor hours for the project.

Note: The hours are displayed only if the Cost Control checkbox of the Cost Control Level Project/Cost Type is selected in the Project - Cost Control Levels (tppdm6102m000) session and is updated using the Build Actual Cost Control (tpppc4803m000) session.
Contract
Contract

If this check box is selected, the contract line data is available for the project.

Extensions

If this check box is selected, extensions exist for the selected project. To view and maintain the extensions, click Extensions.

Scope
Structures

If this check box is selected, structures exist for the specified project. To view and maintain the activity or element structures for the project, click Structures.

Milestones

If this check box is selected, milestones exist for the selected project. To view and maintain the milestones, click Milestones.

Progress
Progress

If this check box is selected, progress for the project is registered. The progress is registered either on elements or activities.

Revenues

If this check box is selected, revenue has been registered for the selected project. To view the project revenue details, click Revenue Transactions.

Estimate
Estimate

If this check box is selected, estimate lines exist for the selected project. To view and maintain the estimate lines, click Estimate.

Budget
Top Down Budget

If this check box is selected, top-down budgets exist for the selected project. To view the current top down budget versions for the project, click Top Down Budget.

Budget Cost Analysis

If this check box is selected, budget cost analysis is defined for the selected project. To view the financial details of the project, click Budget Cost Analysis.

Bottom Up Budget

If this check box is selected, bottom-up budgets exist for the selected project. To view budget lines with a material cost type for the project, click Bottom Up Budget.

Time Phased Budget

If this check box is selected, the budgeted cost of work scheduled of an activity is generated for the specific project. To view the generated planned value for the project, click Time Phased Budget.

Quality
Non-Conformance

Indicates if a non-conformance material report (NCMR) is linked to the selected project.

Note: 

This check box is applicable only if:

  • The non-conformance material report (NCMR) exist for the selected project.
  • The Quality Management (QM) check box is selected the Implemented Software Components (tccom0100s000) session.
  • The Non-Conformance Implemented check box is selected in the Quality Management Parameters (qmptc0100m000) session.
Requirements
Purchase and Warehouse Orders

If this check box is selected, purchase and warehouse orders exist for the selected project. To view the transactions and the ordering flow from budget to final delivery, click Purchase and Warehouse Orders.

Service Orders

If this check box is selected, service orders exist for the selected project. To view the service orders, click Service Orders.

Control
Cost Control

If this check box is selected, the actual cost control is aggregated at the project level. To monitor the project, click Cost Control.

Financial Analysis Graph

If this check box is selected, graph data exist for the selected project. To create a graph of the progression of costs and revenues during the project execution time, click Financial Analysis Graph.

Commitments

If this check box is selected, commitments data exist for the selected project.

Cost Forecast

If this check box is selected, cost forecast entry data exists for the selected project.

Cost Entry

If this check box is selected, cost entry data exists for the selected project.

Performance Measurement

If this check box is selected, performance measurement run has been conducted for the specific project. To view the performance measurement data, click Performance Measurement.

Project

The code that uniquely identifies the project.

Status

The project status. The project status is important for following the right course throughout the project life cycle.

Additional Description

The additional information related to the project. This can be used to communicate information about the project in different phases to the parties involved.

Note: 
  • The Additional Description fields are synchronized with the Description fields in the General Projects (tcmcs0152s000) session.
  • The values specified in the Description fields in the General Projects (tcmcs0152s000) are defaulted to the Additional Description fields in this session and vice versa.
  • You can add multiple descriptions.
Contract Amount

The contract amount of the project.

Related Start Date

The start date of the project. Based on this date, LN considers the (budget) surcharges valid for the budget cost analysis. If the date is not specified, LN considers all the surcharges.

Finish Date

The finish date of a project. The date is used for information purposes.

General
Currency

The project currency.

Budget by

The project budget type determines the way you look at your budget.

You can budget the project by:

  • Element
  • Activity
Control by

The project can be controlled by:

  • Element
  • Activity
Note: 

The project budget uses project control to:

  • Monitor the project outcome, the revenues, the costs.
  • Make a plan, if the Project control type is Activity Budget.
Program

The code that identifies the program linked to the project.

Description

The description or name of the code.

Budgeting Method

The budgeting method of the project.

Budget Date

The budget date that is used as the reference for currency transactions. By default, the budget date as specified for the project is added to the new budget lines.

Organization Breakdown Structure

The organization breakdown structure defined for the project.

Template

If this check box is selected, the project is of the type template and cannot be used for actual projects. The project can be used only for copying projects.

Extension Amount

The sum of contract amount defined in the Project Extensions (tpptc0510m000) session
