Project Task (tppdm6111s000)

Use this session to maintain project-specific labor cost objects. These differ from standard labor cost objects in that they can only be used in one project. Use the Tasks (tppdm0511m000) session to list standard labor cost objects. A labor cost object represents the human effort required to perform a task. You can copy default values from standard labor cost objects. To do this, enter the code for the standard labor cost object in the Task field, and then confirm that you want to copy the standard labor data. The rest of the fields on this form are filled in with details taken from the standard labor cost object.

Field Information

Project

The code that uniquely identifies the project.

Description

The description or name of the code.

Project Status

Status of the project.

Task

To copy details from a previously defined standard labor cost object, enter the code here and then confirm that you want to copy the standard labor data. The rest of the fields on this form are then filled in with details taken from the standard labor cost object.

Description

The description or name of the code.

Search Key

The search key associated with the cost object.

Control Code

The control code associated with the cost object.

Standard labor The control code is a standard cost object.

Project labor The control code is a project-specific cost object.

Control Code Labor

The control code associated with this cost object. S indicates that the control code is a standard cost object. P indicates that the control code is a project-specific cost object

Control Code Labor

The description or name of the code.

Control Function

This field indicates the function of the cost object for cost control.

Cost Component

The cost component associated with the cost object. You can use a cost component to create a cross view in your budget or in your cost control, for cost objects that share particular characteristics.

Note: You can only specify a cost component for which the Component Type is set to Detail or Collect in the Cost Components (tcmcs0148m000) session.
Description

The description or name of the code.

Text

If this check box is selected, the current cost object has an associated text that you can access by clicking the Text button.

Cost Rate Currency

The currency that the cost rate is expressed in.

Cost Rate

The default cost labor rate, per unit, for this cost object. The budget labor rate search path (as specified in the Project (tppdm6600m400) session determines whether or not this cost rate is used in the budget.

Note: If the reference activity is linked to a new labor code, ERP retrieves the Time Unit, Norm (duration of service) and Cost Rate values from Service. The Cost Rate = Cost amount/Norm. You can overwrite the value. If the reference activity is linked to an existing labor code, ERP asks you if you want to overwrite the values with the data of the reference activity.
Final Labor Rate

If this check box is selected, the cost rate is the final rate and cannot be changed by the Update Project Prices and Rates (tppdm6201m000) session. This means that the rate remains stable for costs and budgets that reference it.

Cost Rate Transaction Date

The last date that the cost rate was changed. If the reference activity is linked to the labor code, the date gets updated to the current date when you update the Cost Rate.

In Home Currency

If your company uses an independent currency system you can view the rate in a different currency.

Register Progress

If this check box is selected, the progress can be entered while the project is in progress.

Remark: If the field Register Progress in the Project (tppdm6600m400) session is set to Yes or Variance=Inventory, the progress can be maintained for all cost objects that have the Register Progress check box selected.

The way the progress is computed depends on the setting of the field Register Progress for the project and the cost object.
