Transferring Assembly Part Supply Transfer Messages

Prerequisites

Before you can transfer supply messages, you must have generated them with the Replenish Shop Floor Warehouse (tiasc8210m000) session or the Generate Time Horizon-driven SILS Supply Messages (tiasc8212m000) session.

Functionality

The supply messages that fall in the selection ranges of the current session, are transferred to one of the following packages/modules:

  • Warehousing, for internal supply, that is, for supply of the shop floor warehouse from the main warehouse. If you select the Supply from Warehouse check box, defined in the Item Data by Warehouse (whwmd2110s000) session, assembly parts are requested from the specified warehouse, which generates warehouse transfers.
  • Purchase Control, for external supply, which means that an external supplier delivers the required parts directly to the shop floor warehouse. PUR sends this message information by a (sequenced) shipping schedule. External supply is used if the Supply from Warehouse check box, defined in the Item Data by Warehouse (whwmd2110s000) session, is cleared.

After the messages are transferred, the following fields are modified:

  • The Transfer Done check box is selected.
  • The value of the Status field is changed from Created or Modified to Not Received, which means that the assembly parts are requested, but not yet received.

However, if the transfer does not succeed, the following happens:

  • The Transfer Done check box is not selected.
  • The Transfer Rejected check box is selected

You can view these fields in the Line Station - Assembly Part Supply Transfer (Batch) (tiasc8510m000) session and the Assembly Part Supply Transfer (SILS) (tiasc8520m000) session.
