Indicating Task Relationships

This session enables you to:

  • List and maintain data that concerns costing, operation time, and capacity for specific relationships between tasks, machines, and work centers.
  • Have better visibility of resources during work preparation.
  • Define default setup times, cycle times at the relationship level, and so on.

It is mandatory to define task relationships for a combination of task, work center, and/or machine if the following is true:

  • The Work Center Selection Method field or the Machine Selection Method field in the Tasks (Reference Operations) (tirou0103m000) details session is Specific.
  • The Type of Operation Rates field in the Standard Cost Calculation Parameters (ticpr0100m000) session is Task Relationship Rate.

If the Work Center Selection Method field in the Tasks (Reference Operations) (tirou0103m000) details session is All, the Work Center field in the Task Relationships (tirou0104m000) session can be left empty to produce generic task relationships. The same goes for machines: If the Machine Selection Method field the in the Tasks (Reference Operations) (tirou0103m000) details session is All, the Machine field in the Task Relationships (tirou0104m000) session can be left empty.

Specific menu

On the appropriate menu you can click:

  • Tools

Starts the Task Relationship - Tools (tirou0115m000) session in which you can view or maintain the tools that are linked or must be linked to the task relationship. If you linked tools to a specific machine in the Machine - Tools (tirou0110m000) session and you defined a task relationship in the current session in which the machine is involved, LN automatically links the tools to the task relationship in the Task Relationship - Tools (tirou0115m000) session.
  • Process Variables

Starts the Task Relationship - Process Variables (tirou0116m000) session in which you can link process variables to a task relationship.
  • Setup Classes / States

Starts the Setup Classes and States by Work Center/Task (tirou0112m000) session.
  • Update Routing Operations

Starts the Update Routing Operations (tirou1204m000) session in which you can update the routing operations that make use of a task relationship that is changed in the current session.
  • Where-Used

Starts the Routing Operations (tirou1102m000) session in which you can view the routing operation(s) in which a specific task relationship is used.

Default value

The defaults entered in this session are used in the Routing Operations (tirou1102m000) session and are retrieved when you enter an operation.
