BOM Line - Material-Routing Relationships (tibom0140m000)

Use this session to to link selected materials to specific operations.

Note: If no definition is present for a bill of material, material is issued on the first operation of a production order. This is usually operation 10.

Field Information

Main Item

The main item for which the BOM is maintained.

Position

The component BOM position number.

The BOM sequence number is a subdivision of the component item's BOM position number. If you create orders for a manufactured item, only the material with the lowest valid sequence number is taken into account. A material sequence number can be (in)valid due to effectivity dates or unit effectivity settings.

Item

The component item of the manufactured item.

  • The component is an item with the Purchased item type or the Manufactured item type.
  • The component must be present in the Items (tcibd0501m000) session, but not necessarily in the Item - Production (tiipd0101m000) session.
Routing

A routing that is used to produce the main item. You can define one or more routings for an item in the Item - Routings (tirou1101m000) session.

Operation

The routing operation at which the BOM line's item must be issued to the job shop.

More than one routing can be available to produce an item. The operation at which a material is issued can differ for the various routings.
