View Workload Analysis (tiasc5701m000)

Use this session to generate charts that display an analysis of the workload and available capacity for man and/or machine occupation of (parts of) an assembly line.

Field Information

Aggregate by

The level on which the analysis is performed. This level also mainly determines the output of the session.

The following levels exist:

  • Assembly Line
  • Line Segment
  • Main Work Center
  • Line Station
  • Line Station by Order

The last option, Line Station by Order, is the same level as Line Station, but sorts the data by assembly order. This option allows you to detect which orders can be moved or swapped to solve a capacity problem.

Selecting Line Station by Order has the following consequences for other fields and check boxes in this session:

  • The Number of Periods on Chart and Graph Type fields are disabled.
  • The Show Man Capacity/Workload and Show Machine Capacity/Workload check boxes are selected, and can not be cleared.
  • The Sort by Workload field is enabled. For other options in the current field, the Sort by Workload field is disabled.
Start Date

The range of dates that determine the period for which the analysis is performed. For the calculation of the workload, only line station orders (LSOs) whose start date falls in this range are considered.

Period Length

The length of the period for which the analysis is performed. The capacity and workload are expressed as an amount of time per period.

Enter a whole number.

The period length also determines the unit that is used to display the man and machine occupation in the chart, according to the following rules:

  • If the period length is less than 50 minutes, the workload is displayed in seconds.
  • If the period length is between 50 minutes and 50 hours, the workload is displayed in minutes.
  • If the period length is between 50 hours and 50 days, the workload is displayed in hours.
  • If the period lengt is 50 days or more, the workload is displayed in days.

The following units can be used:

  • Days
  • Hours
  • Minutes
Note: The unit you select, has no direct influence on the unit used to display the workload in the generated chart. The unit in the chart is determined by the Period Length, entered in the previous field.
Show Man Capacity/Workload

If this check box is selected, the chart shows the capacity and workload for man hours.

Note:
  • If you selected Line Station by Order in the Aggregate by field, this check box is automatically selected, and can not be cleared.
  • If you selected another option in the Aggregate by field, at least one of the check boxes in the Workload Analysis group box must be selected.
Show Machine Capacity/Workload

If this check box is selected, the chart shows the capacity and workload for machine hours.

Note:
  • If you selected Line Station by Order in the Aggregate by field, this check box is automatically selected, and can not be cleared.
  • If you selected another option in the Aggregate by field, at least one of the check boxes in the Workload Analysis group box must be selected.
Number of Periods on Chart

Enter the number of periods you want to group in the chart. The total number of periods is determined by the range you selected in the Start Date fields, divided by the Period Length. When the total number of periods is too high to afford a sufficiently detailed view, you can devide the chart in several periods, according to the value you enter here.

Graph Type

The graph type you want to use.

Choose one of the following types:

  • Line Graph
  • 2D Bar Graph
  • 3D Bar Graph
  • 2D Pie Graph
  • 3D Pie Graph
  • Gantt Graph
  • Log/Linear Graph
  • 2D Area Graph
  • 2D Scatter Graph
  • Polar Graph
  • High-Low-Close Graph
  • Bubble Graph
  • Tape Graph
  • 3D Area Graph
  • Log/Log Graph
  • Linear/Log Graph
  • Box-Whisker Graph
  • Open-High-Low-Close Graph
  • Candlestick Graph
  • True 3D Surface Graph
  • True 3D Scatter Graph
  • Time Series Graph
Sort by Workload

Select whether you want to sort by man workload or machine workload.

Note: This field is only enabled, if you selected Line Station by Order in the Aggregate by field.
Assembly Line

The assembly line(s) whose capacity and workload is analyzed.

Line Segment

The line segment(s) whose capacity and workload is analyzed.

Line Station

The line station(s) whose capacity and workload is analyzed.
