Location Segments (tffam5510m000)

Use this session to maintain location segments. You use segments to define the types of location information you want to track for your organization's assets. For each location segment, you also define a set of valid values called segment codes. When you assign a location to an asset, you select a segment code for each location segment in the location format for that asset.

The segment codes and the segment defaults are defined in the Location Segment and Segment (tffam5100m000) subsession, and the order of the location format is defined in the Define Location Format (tffam5210m000) subsession. For example, you can add the location segment BLDG to identify the building in which an asset is located. You would then define a segment code for each specific building in your organization. For instance, you can specify MANUFACTURE for the manufacturing facility and WRHS for the warehouse.
