Record Asset Units Used (tffam1145s000)

Use this session to record or modify the current units used for assets whose corresponding books use a Units of Production depreciation method. You must record units used prior to running depreciation for any book that has a life in units. The number of units you enter is the new cumulative total of units used to the current date. LN uses this number to determine the units used since the last time depreciation was run.

If you enter a units used that is greater than the value of the asset's life in units, LN considers the asset fully used. If you leave a row blank, LN interprets this as no change. If you enter a number of units used that is equal to or greater than the current number of units the asset contains in any book, LN interprets this to mean that the asset is fully used in that book. The next time you perform depreciation, LN will fully depreciate the asset in that book only.

Units Used To Date

The number of units you enter is the new cumulative total of units used up to the current date. LN uses this value to replace the previous units used for the asset in all of its books and it also records the Last Recorded Date. For example, if you want to increase the units used from 10500 to 10750, you must enter 10750 (rather than 250) as the new units used and LN overwrites the previous value.
