Allocation Keys (tfcat4502m000)

Use this session to list and maintain allocation keys.

An allocation key is a scheme to create allocation relations automatically if the source of the allocation relations is known. Cost allocation structures that concern the same set of target dimensions often occur multiple times and must be maintained manually. To create outgoing percentage-allocation relations of the same type automatically, you can define an allocation key for the chosen allocation rule set and generate the allocation relations accordingly.

The allocation key will be used to define percentage-allocation relations to a group of target dimensions if the allocation structure occurs multiple times for different source dimensions.

The following restrictions apply:

  • The sublevel of the destination ledger account and dimension must be zero
  • The destination reference unit can only be left empty if no reference unit is linked to the destination dimension
  • The account type of the destination ledger account must be profit and loss
  • The allocation type of the destination ledger account must be secondary debit
  • Periodic distribution percentage can only be given if the budget period and actual allocation relations are accessible.
  • A distribution can only be entered for budget-year allocation relations.
