Managing resources for quality related processes

Resource Management is required to analyze the skills and the availability of critical resources. This analysis helps to complete specific Quality related activities (product or project based) such as inspections, generation of non-conformance report (NCR) and corrective action plans (CAP).

The employees can be assigned to various activities related to project, service, manufacturing, and or quality, at the same time. Each employee can be assigned to certain activity. The employees must have the required skills and competencies that match the demand. For example, if an inspection order is created for a purchased item and resource management functionality is implemented in Quality, you can assign multiple resources (employees) with the required skills, to the inspection order line.

Data setup

The following data must be set up:

  • In the Quality Management Parameters (qmptc0100m000) session, you must select the Resource Management Implemented check box, to enable the resource management functionality.
  • In the Resource Management Parameters (tcrac0100m000) session, you must select the Inspection Order Assignments, Non-Conformance Report Assignments and Corrective Action Plan Assignments check boxes, to create CRM appointments for the business object related activities.
  • In the Resource Planning Parameters (tsspc0101m000) session, you must select the Group Planning for Non-Conformance Implemented and Group Planning for Corrective Action Plan Implemented check boxes to enable the group planning functionality for the business object related activities.

Resource Assignments (qmptc1160m000)

In this session, you can assign more than one resource for a Quality related business object such as an inspection order line, a NCR and a CAP task. You must specify the planned start date, planned completion date, time estimate, actual start date and actual date for the business object related activity. LN creates a CRM appointment that is displayed in the Appointment field in the Resource Assignments (qmptc1160m000) session.

Appointment (tccom6600m100)

You can view the appointment related information in the Appointment (tccom6600m100) session. You can access this session from the Activities (tccom6100m000) session.

Note: 

LN creates a CRM appointment for the business object related activity only if the Inspection Order Assignments, Non-Conformance Report Assignments and Corrective Action Plan Assignments check boxes are selected in the Resource Management Parameters (tcrac0100m000) session.

Employee Assignments (tcrac1100m100)

LN updates the resource assignment details for the business object related activities in the Employee Assignments (tcrac1100m100) session.

Groups for Quality (tsspc3100m500)

LN updates the group planning data for the business object (NCR and CAP) related activities in the Groups for Quality (tsspc3100m500) session.

Note: The group planning data is updated only if the Group Planning for Non-Conformance Implemented and Group Planning for Corrective Action Plan Implemented check boxes are selected in the Resource Planning Parameters (tsspc0101m000) session.

Skills (qmptc1165m000)

In this session, you can link the skills to Quality related business objects such as a non-conformance report (NCR), the corrective action plan (CAP) task or the inspection order lines.
