Standard Test Procedure Characteristics (qmptc0115m000)

Use this session to define the quality requirements for characteristics. The characteristics defined for a quality ID apply to all the quality combinations to which the quality ID is assigned.

In the details session, you link multiple characteristics or aspect/characteristics combinations to a quality ID. You can add properties for a quality ID like test, norm, limits method, and effective date.

Note: The default data of characteristics can be changed.

Field Information

Standard Test Procedure

quality ID

Version

The version number of the standard test procedure. If you duplicate the standard test procedure, LN assigns a new version number.

Aspect

aspect

Characteristic

characteristic

Reference Designator

The location where the item component can be inserted. This value is used to differentiate between two test group lines with the same data.

Origin Order Sequence

A sequence number that allows you to define the same characteristic multiple times, but each time with a different expiry date.

Characteristic Type

The following types of characteristics are available: Characteristic Type.

Method

The following methods are available: Method.

Characteristic Unit

characteristic unit

Characteristic for Algorithm

If this check box is selected, this characteristic can be used as a variable or as a constant in the algorithm of another characteristic.

Test

The test that is used by default for measuring the characteristic.

Fixed Characteristic Value

A characteristic value that is determined once.

The fixed characteristic value is compared to the test results in the Inspection Order Test Data (qmptc1115m000) session.

Note: This field only applies if the Method field is set to Fixed. If the Characteristic Type field is set to Integer, the Fixed Characteristic Value field is rounded off to the nearest integer.
User entry Rounded value
5 11
4 10
6 11
Algorithm

algorithm

Note: You can use the Algorithm field, only if you entered Algorithm in the Method field.
Option Set

option set

Note: You can enter an option set if the Characteristic Type field is on Option.
Effective Date

The date on which you can perform a test to inspect items.

Expiry Date

The date on which you can no longer perform a test to inspect the characteristic for this quality ID.

Characteristic Standard

The standard normally used for characteristics.

For example, a DIN standard

Limit Type

The type of value that is measured.

Allowed values

Tolerance

The limits are entered as percentages of the norm. You can enter the norm in the Norm field.

Value

The limits are entered as values in the Upper Limit field and the Lower Limit field.

Value Type

The value type of the characteristic.

Allowed values

Norm
Nominal
Not Applicable
Chart Name

The code of the chart name to which the nominal values are applicable.

Note: This field is available only if the Nominal option is selected in the Value Type field.
Chart Type

The code of the chart type for which the nominal values are applicable.

Note: This field is available only if the Nominal option is selected in the Value Type field.
Tolerance Standard

The code of the tolerance standard linked to the nominal value range.

Note: This field is available only if the Nominal option is selected in the Value Type field.
Nominal Value

The nominal value of the characteristic, expressed in the characteristic unit.

Note:

This field is available only if the Nominal option is selected in the Value Type field.

You can specify the value in this field, if the Characteristic Type field is set to Option and this value is not used to determine the inspection result.

In case of qualitative test entry ( Result Type is Qualitative for the related inspection order line), this value is used only to display the information and is not used to determine the inspection results.

Norm

The norm is the desired quality for this characteristic, expressed in the characteristic unit.

Note:

This field does not apply if you enter Fixed in the Method field or Option in the Characteristic Type field.

You can specify the value in this field, if the Characteristic Type field is set to Option and this value is not used to determine the inspection result.

In case of qualitative test entry ( Result Type is Qualitative for the related inspection order line), this value is used only to display the information and is not used to determine the inspection results.

Upper Limit

Type in the highest characteristic value, expressed in the characteristic unit, for which the quality is acceptable.

Note:

The Upper Limit field must be greater than or equal to the value in the Norm field.

You can specify the value in this field, if the Characteristic Type field is set to Option and this value is not used to determine the inspection result.

In case of qualitative test entry ( Result Type is Qualitative for the related inspection order line), this value is used only to display the information and is not used to determine the inspection results.

Lower Limit

Type in the lowest characteristic value, expressed in the characteristic unit, for which the quality is acceptable.

Note:

The Lower Limit field must be greater than or equal to the value in the Norm field.

You can specify the value in this field, if the Characteristic Type field is set to Option and this value is not used to determine the inspection result.

In case of qualitative test entry ( Result Type is Qualitative for the related inspection order line), this value is used only to display the information and is not used to determine the inspection results.

Upper Tolerance

Type in the maximum percentage that a value can be higher than the norm in the Norm field.

Lower Tolerance

Type in the percentage that a value can be lower than the norm in the Norm field.
