The table explains the various roles that can be defined for the activities related to Service.

The employee can only close assigned service orders.
Service Planner	Schedules service orders using the Service Scheduler Workbench Assigns employees to service order activities	Service Orders Service Administrator Service Department Enterprise Unit Service Area Service Type	The employee can only view, create or modify assigned service orders.
	Releases service orders	Service Orders Service Administrator Service Department Enterprise Unit Service Area Service Type	The employee can only release assigned service orders.
	Performs service order resource planning	Service Orders Service Administrator Service Department Enterprise Unit Service Area Service Type Other Attributes: Item Project PCS Project Business Partner	The employee can only view and use assigned service orders (= Primary Object). The employee can only view assigned business partners, but can generate for business partners for which the employee has no permission. The employee can view assigned (PCS) projects, but can generate for projects for which the employee has no permission. The employee can only generate assigned purchase orders.
Service Engineer	Executes assigned activities in the mobile service app	Service Orders Service Administrator Service Department Enterprise Unit Service Area Service Type	The employee can only see assigned activities (already available in mobile service app).
Service Engineer	Registers actuals (materials, labor and other) in the mobile service app	Service Orders Service Administrator Service Department Enterprise Unit Service Area Service Type Other Attributes: Item Project PCS Project Business Partner	The employee can only use assigned activities (already available in mobile service app).
