Texts (tttxt1100m000)

Use this session to maintain and create text data. Text data gives you information about a text. Each text and its corresponding text data is identified by a text number and a language. The text data consists of a language-dependent and language-independent part.

This session can be used in two ways:

  • You can run this session to enter text data and create a text. This text can be linked to a text field later on.
  • This session is activated in the background when you create text using the Text button. The text data is automatically filled with defaults. If a text exists, the text editor is started. Otherwise Tools asks you to create a new text. The text button is available in sessions where a text can be added.

If you delete a text, Tools asks whether you want the texts to be deleted in all languages. Tools checks whether the text is used anywhere.

These commands are available on the appropriate menu:

  • Edit text - Activates the editor with the current text in the current language. You must have authorization to update the text.
  • Change language - Changes the current language.
  • Copy text to other language - Copies texts from one language to another.
  • Find text by keyword - Searches text by keyword.
Note: A text can be edited by one user at a time. If you try to edit a text while it is being edited by another user, this message is displayed:
Text is locked by user <username>.
