Loader Daemon (ttmig5235m000)

Use this session when loading data into LN using LN UI.

This session is used to start the migration process and monitor the actual data load of the dumped files into the LN database. The screen shows the amount of load engines initiated and the currently loaded table per load process. Initially, the program starts several loaders as specified in the Loader Parameters. You can add or remove additional loader processes. To determine whether additional loaders can be initiated or removed, monitor the system performance.

The session can be used in a “Load only” situation. This means that the dumping process has finished, and the data files are available for the LN Load engine to be loaded. You can define ranges to only load a specific range or even a specific table.

The initiated loading engines are invoked in the background. They keep running until they are finished. You can log off from the MT Cloud environment and log on again to monitor the status of the loading process.

Depending on the database, any error that occurred in the native database loader is logged in the *.log file. If possible, the rejected record is stored in a *.bad file.

The *.log file contains the result of the loading, such as loading time, loaded records, and rejected records. To find these files, click Show Log Files in the Loader Dashboard (ttmig5600m000) session.

When loading of a table has finished, you must analyze the created *.log files and *.bad files. To view the result, use the Migration Run (ttmig5530m100) session. You can start this session from the Loader Dashboard (ttmig5600m000), Loader Daemon (ttmig5235m000), and Migration Runs (ttmig5530m000) sessions.

Streaming

Select this check box if streaming data is used.

If this check box is selected, the session starts loading the data files into the table for data files that are already present in S3 or in the directory that is specified in the parameters session.

During migration of data, the session checks whether new data files have been added and also migrates these files. The session keeps running until you click Stop Loading. Alternatively, you can clear the Streaming check box to stop the process.

If this check box is cleared, a normal migration run is started. The run stops after it has finished the migration of the last data file.

Because of the introduction of streaming, so-called ‘0’-files can be present. These files specify the data files that should be taken into account for the migration. If a ‘0’-file is present, then all files must be migrated before the table is reported as completed. If not all files are migrated, the table is reported as partially completed.
