Database Users (ttdba0115m000)

Use this session to create a database user and to convert the database users to the RDBMS. The LN user and the database administrator can use this session to change the password of the database users.

The database administrator assigns a password to every new database user. This password is created in the session, which automatically starts when you enter the database user name.

You can create a database user by using the Tools software or by using another software package. database users created with another software package have the status Not Available.

Note: You can only create the a database user if a database group already exists.

Field Information

Database

The database code.

Note: Create the database in the Database Definitions (ttaad4510m000) session.
Database User

The database user code.

Note: Some databases cannot handle uppercase characters. Therefore you must create all database user names in lowercase.

Database Group

Enter the database group code.

A database group is unique in every database. You must create a database group before you can create a database user, because the database user is always part of a database group.

OS Authentication

If this check box is selected,, no password is required for an LN user. The user must be defined manually as an OS Authenticated user in the RDBMS. The actual procedure depends on the RDBMS. Whether or not the porting set supports this kind of authentication can be found in the Release Notes of the porting set at hand.

Status

The status of the database user. The status will be updated by the Database Administrator module.
