Encrypt passwords in an iss file (ttcorencrypt)
Use this session to (re-)encrypt passwords in an InstallShield silent install file.
These iss files are created by a recording option in the Installation Wizard. For example, setup -r -f1"c:\temp\testinstall.iss" -f2"c:\temp\testinstalllog.txt".
Note: An iss file can have multiple passwords (encrypted or not).
Commands
- Re-encrypt field. : Converts existing passwords to encrypted passwords. See the
- Re-encrypt check box is selected and the Password (user) and Confirm passwords fields are filled in the LN group. : Copies the specified password to all password fields. This command is enabled only if the
- Silent Install File Name field, all files in the folder are encrypted. After each file encryption, you will be given the opportunity to change passwords until the last file is encrypted. : If * is specified in the
Field Information
- Folder
- The location where the iss files must be stored, for example /Folder/iss. After the encryption run, the file is stored in Folder/iss/out. The file in /Folder/iss will be removed.
- Silent Install File Name
- Specify the name of the iss file to be encrypted or specify * for all files in the folder.
- Next File
- Shows the next file to be encrypted (read only).
- Re-encrypt
- If this check box is cleared, plain passwords are
converted to encrypted passwords after clicking
Folder
field.
If this check box is selected, passwords are converted to new encrypted passwords. All password fields and the SLM used in InstallShield silent file(s) check box are enabled.
. All other fields are disabled. The result file is written to a subfolder
(*/out). The original file is removed from the location in the - SLM used in InstallShield silent file(s)
- Select this check box if the installation is on a Linux/Unix
system and the iss file requires SLM to be installed.Note: When installing on Windows, this check box has no effect.
