Convert text to unicode (ttcor0209m000)

Use this session to convert data text to unicode. For example when Baan IV c data is being converted to LN with Unicode, the text data will not be converted. That is why this session is created. Before running this session you must create a backup of the texts being converted. If this session fails and corrupts the text data then you are able to restore the data from backup.

The correction program can only convert texts under these conditions:

  • The user must have read/write permissions for the text.
  • The locale of the user must correspond with the locale used when entering the text. To switch the locale, you must change the user data and run a convert to runtime. After that you must restart the bshell.
  • All selected texts are one by one stored in a tmp file, converted, and placed back into LN. The processing of large amount of text can take several hours.
  • An already converted text can be converted again.

After running the conversion, a report is created with the amount of the converted text data. In the same report there is a section with the amount of text data that is not converted, or created read or write problems. In the specified logfile, you can find which specific text file went wrong and what the problems are.
