Pies (ttchm2110s000)
Use this session to set pie attributes.
Pies are circular diagrams divided into segments which show the quantitative relationships of different series or categories. Each segment represents a percentage of the total. You do not need to specify the percentages as the Chart Manager calculates these itself on the basis of the data that is entered in the Chart Data (ttchm3100s000) session.
Pies are displayed in a pie box. You can determine the size and layout of the box by filling in the second screen. Use the Pie Segments (ttchm2115s000) session, which is accessed from the Attributes menu, to define attributes as colors and to fill patterns.
Field Information
- Pie Sort
-
Select a value to indicate how the data must be sorted.
Example
Sorting by category means that all values are plotted in a pie, the category remaining equal. Each pie represents a category; the segments represent the series of measuring points.
If a graph has multiple data points by category, you can also sort by data number first. If each category has only one data point, the sort sequence of category and data number and the sort sequence of series and data number is irrelevant.
- Title
-
The font for the pie title. Fonts are defined in the Fonts (ttchm2199s000) session on the Options menu of the Chart Manager.
- Segment Sort
-
Select a value to indicate how segments must be sorted by size.
- Data Labels
-
The font of a pie's data labels. Fonts are defined in Fonts (ttchm2199s000) session on the Options menu of the Chart Manager.
- Percent Labels
-
The font for the pie's percentage labels. Fonts are defined in Fonts (ttchm2199s000) session on the Options menu of the Chart Manager.
- Dimension
-
This field indicates whether a pie is two or three-dimensional. For 3-D pies you must specify the thickness.
- Size
-
The pie diameter expressed as a percentage of the box. Enter a percentage between 1 and 100. Data labels can extend outside this area.
- Thickness
-
The thickness of the pie (3-D only) as a percentage of the specified size. Enter a percentage between 1 and 100.
- Title
-
The color of the title font.
- Shadow
-
Select a value in this field to indicate whether shadows must be shown to suggest some depth in 2-D charts. No shadow is drawn in 3-D charts.
- Data Labels
-
The color of the font of data labels.
- Percent Labels
-
The color of the font of a pie's percentage labels.
- Title
-
If this check box is selected, titles are printed below the pies. If the data is sorted by Pie Sort category, the category label is used as a pie title. If it is sorted by series, the series label is used as title.
- Data Labels
-
If this check box is selected, the data labels are visible.
Data labels are placed near or on the relevant segments. They contain the value or name of the series or category, which is defined in the Pie Sort field and represented by the segment, which is defined in the Data Label Type field.
- Title
-
Select a value to indicate how the title is aligned. The title is always placed below the pie.
- Data Pointers
-
If this check box is selected, a line must be drawn from the data label to the segment. This is only possible if the label is placed outside the segment. The segment is defined in the Data Labels field.
- Data Labels
-
The position of the data label in relation to the segment.
- Data Labels
-
The position of data labels in relation to the pie.
Data labels are always printed horizontally. If a label does not fit into the segment, part of it will be placed outside the segment. Labels placed outside the pie can be linked with the corresponding segment by a line or data pointer.
- Inside
-
If you select this value, the label is placed inside the segment.
- Outside
-
If you select this value, the label is placed outside the segment.
- Percent Labels
-
If this check box is selected, the label is visible. The percentage label shows the relation, expressed as a percentage of the data represented by the segment with respect to the total.
- Percent Labels
-
Select a value to indicate the position of the percentage label in relation to the segment.
- Percent Labels
-
The position of the percentage labels in relation to the pie.
Percentage labels are always printed horizontally. If a label does not fit into the segment, the rest is placed outside the segment. Labels placed outside the pie can be linked with the corresponding segment by a line or pointer.
- Inside
-
If you select this value, the label is placed inside the segment.
- Outside
-
If you select this value, the label is placed outside the segment.
- Percent Pointers
-
If this check box is selected, a line must be drawn from percentage label to segment. This is only possible if the label is placed outside the segment Percent Labels field.
- Data Label Type
-
Select a value to indicate the type of content of data labels.
- Border
-
The foreground color of the pie box.
- Background
-
The background color of the pie box.
- Fill Order
-
If the box consists of more than one row or column, use this field to indicate the sequence in which the diagrams are to be placed in the pie box.
- Columns
-
The number of columns in which the pie box is to be divided.
- Rows
-
The number of rows in which the pie box is to be divided.
- Width
-
The width of the pie box expressed as a percentage of the width of the window.
- Height
-
The height of the pie box as a percentage of the window height.
- Left Margin
-
The left margin as a percentage of the pie box width. By widening or narrowing the margins, you cause the diagram in the box to be drawn to another scale.
- Right Margin
-
The right margin as a percentage of the pie box width. By widening or narrowing the margins, you cause the diagram in the box to be drawn to another scale.
- Top Margin
-
The top margin as a percentage of the pie box height. By widening or narrowing the margins, you cause the diagram in the box to be drawn to another scale.
- Bottom Margin
-
The bottom margin as percentage of the pie box height. By widening or narrowing the margins, you cause the diagram in the box to be drawn to another scale.
