Toolbar Preview (ttadv9251m000)

Use this session to view or modify the structure of the toolbar buttons and menus as they are displayed in the session.
Note: This session is displayed as a pane in the Personalize Toolbar (ttadv9250m100) session.

The currently hidden items are displayed in a lighter gray color than the currently visible items. You can move the items to the desired position in the toolbar.

To move an item directly to the toolbar, right-click the item in the tree and select Move to Toolbar.

Some items are locked in place. For these items, a padlock icon is displayed at the right side of the pane. You cannot move locked items. You can duplicate a locked item and position the duplicate on the toolbar.

You can perform various actions, such as these:

  • Hide or unhide items.
  • Change the order of items.
  • Add separators between items.
  • Create a menu.

To change how an item is displayed, select the item in the tree and modify its properties in the Properties (ttadv9252m000) pane.

Actions

This table shows the actions that you can perform:

Action Description
Hide items To hide an item:
  1. Select the item in the tree.
  2. In the Properties (ttadv9252m000) pane, select the Hidden check box.

Alternatively, right-click the item in the tree and select Make Hidden.

Unhide items To unhide an item:
  1. Select the item in the tree.
  2. In the Properties (ttadv9252m000) pane, clear the Hidden check box.

Alternatively, right-click the item in the tree and select Make Unhidden.

Change the order of items In the tree, drag the items to the desired position.

Alternatively, use the up and down arrow buttons on the pane's toolbar.

Move menu commands to toolbar This option is not available for locked items!

To move a menu command to the toolbar:

  1. In the tree, select the command.
  2. Select Actions > Move to Toolbar.
Copy menu commands to toolbar To copy a menu command to the toolbar:
  1. In the tree, select the command.
  2. Select Actions > Copy to Toolbar.
Remove toolbar personalizations To remove all your toolbar personalizations for the current session, select Actions > Remove All Personalizations.
Remove personalization for an item To remove the personalization of one item, select the item in the tree and select Actions > Remove Selected Personalization.

The personalized properties are removed and the item is moved back to its standard position. If the item is a duplicate of a locked item, the item is removed.

Add a separator between items To add a separator between items:
  1. In the tree, select the item behind which you want to add the separator.
  2. Select Insert > New Separator.
Remove a separator To remove a separator:
  1. Select the separator in the tree.
  2. Select Actions > Remove Selected Personalization.
Add a personalized menu To add a menu, select the item behind which you want to add the menu and select Insert > New Menu.
Remove a menu To remove a menu:
  1. Select the menu in the tree.
  2. Select Actions > Remove Selected Personalization.
Link icon to non-standard items To link an icon to an item:
  1. Select the item in the tree. The properties of the item are displayed in the Properties (ttadv9252m000) pane.
  2. Complete one of these steps:
    • Drag an image, for example from a Windows folder, to the Icon field in the Properties (ttadv9252m000) pane.
    • Click the Browse for new image button next to the Icon field to select an image from a folder.
    • Click the Browse library for image button next to the Icon field to select an image from the library.
    The icon is displayed before the form command description in the tree.
  3. To have the icon displayed in the toolbar, set the Display Style to Show as Icon or Show as Icon and Text.
Set an item as default This option is only available for menus that support a default menu item, such as the Print menu.

To set an item as default action for the menu, right-click the item and select Set as Default.

If you click the toolbar button that is related to the menu, such as Print, the default action is performed.
Enable preview mode To enable preview mode, select Actions > Preview Mode.

In the tree, the commands and toolbar menus are displayed in the way they will be displayed in the session. For example:

  • Hidden items are not displayed in the tree.
  • Icons are only displayed in the tree if the Display Style is Show as Icon or Show as Icon and Text.
  • Icon descriptions are only displayed in the tree if the Display Style is Show as Text or Show as Icon and Text.
Disable preview mode

To disable preview mode, select Actions > Preview Mode again.

All items, including all icons and icon descriptions, are displayed in the tree.
