Display Report Editor Options (ttadv3539m000)

Use this session to display the options available during the edit of a report.

The options within language 0 is the default option set, this set can not be changed. Sets in other languages can be changed by the user.

Note: You can maintain the editor options in the Report Editor Options (ttadv3139m000) session.

Field Information

Language

This field contains the language for which the edit options are defined.

Abort Program

To cancel the report editor. All changes made after the last save action are lost.

Abort Program

Save and Continue

To save all changes made after the last save. The editor is not ended after save.

To end the report editor and save all changes made during edit.

Zoom to Buffer

To zoom to another report where the buffer can be filled using option Fill Buffer. After ending the zoom action, the filled buffer can be placed in the report using option Read Buffer.

On/off Insert Mode

To switch insert mode on or off. If insert mode is on the string "ins" is displayed on the status bar. Within insert mode all typed characters are placed before the cursor and the characters after the cursor are one position shifted to the right. If insert mode is off characters are overwritten.

On/off Insert Mode

The character which must be pressed in combination with the defined combination of special keys (<Esc>, <Ctrl> or <Esc><Ctrl>) to execute the command. Only a single character can be entered.

On/off Graphic Mode

To switch graphics mode on or off. If the graphics mode is on the string "gr" is displayed on the status bar. Within the graphics mode the keys 1 thru 9, - and | give a graphical part of a box.

On/off Bold Mode

To switch bold mode on or off. If bold mode is on, the character d is displayed on the status bar. Within bold mode all characters are written bold.

The character which must be pressed in combination with the defined combination of special keys (<Esc>, <Ctrl> or <Esc><Ctrl>) to execute the command. Only a single character can be entered.

On/off Reverse Mode

To switch reverse mode on or off. If reverse mode is on, the character r is displayed on the status bar. Within reverse mode all characters are written reversed.

On/off Reverse Mode

The character which must be pressed in combination with the defined combination of special keys (<Esc>, <Ctrl> or <Esc><Ctrl>) to execute the command. Only a single character can be entered.

On/off Underline Mode

To switch underline mode on or off. When underline mode is on, the character u is displayed on the status bar. Within underline mode all characters are printed underlined.

The character which must be pressed in combination with the defined combination of special keys (<Esc>, <Ctrl> or <Esc><Ctrl>) to execute the command. Only a single character can be entered.

Draw Box

To draw a box from the cursor position to any position on the report. After giving the command to draw a box the opposite corner of the box must be set by moving the cursor to that position and giving the command (draw box) once again.

All normal text appearing under the box will be removed.

Drawing of the box can be canceled by pressing <Esc>[E].

Draw Box

The character which must be pressed in combination with the defined combination of special keys (<Esc>, <Ctrl> or <Esc><Ctrl>) to execute the command. Only a single character can be entered.

Move Block

To move a part of the report to a new position in the report. One corner is defined by the cursor position when the command is issued. The opposite corner is set by moving the cursor to the right position and repeating the command. After that give the command again on the new position of the block.

All text present on the new position of the block is removed.

A block cannot overwrite a field, if you try the block is not moved.

The move of a block can be canceled by pressing <Esc>[E].

Move Block

The character which must be pressed in combination with the defined combination of special keys (<Esc>, <Ctrl> or <Esc><Ctrl>) to execute the command. Only a single character can be entered.

Copy Block

To copy a part of the report to one or more positions in the report. One corner of the block to be copied is defined by the cursor position when the command is issued. The opposite corner is set by moving the cursor to the appropriate position and repeating the command. After selecting the block repeat the command on each position where the block is required. This is stopped when the command is pressed twice or when you try to overwrite a field.

All text present on the new position of the block is removed.

A block cannot overwrite a field, if you try the block is not copied.

Copying of a block can be canceled by pressing <Esc>[E].

Copy Block

The character which must be pressed in combination with the defined combination of special keys (<Esc>, <Ctrl> or <Esc><Ctrl>) to execute the command. Only a single character can be entered.

Clear Block

To clear a part of the report. One corner of the block to be cleared is defined by the cursor position at command start. The opposite corner is set by moving the cursor to the appropriate position and repeating the command.

All text present on the position of the block is removed.

A field only will be removed if the block encloses the whole field.

Clearing of a block can be canceled by pressing <Esc>[E].

Clear Block

The character which must be pressed in combination with the defined combination of special keys (<Esc>, <Ctrl> or <Esc><Ctrl>) to execute the command. Only a single character can be entered.

Insert Line

To insert a blank line above the line at which the cursor is positioned. The lines below the current are shifted downwards. If the last line of the report contains one or more fields, lines cannot be inserted.

Delete Line

To delete the line at which the cursor is positioned. All following lines are shifted upwards. A line containing one or more fields cannot be deleted.

Change Window Size

To change the size of the report layout. After giving the command move the cursor to the new bottom right corner of the layout and repeat the command. Texts can be lost when the layout is made smaller. Fields cannot be lost.

Resizing of a report layout can be canceled by pressing <Esc>[E].

Mirror Block

With this option a selected block is mirrored horizontally. This is done according to the following rules: The distance between the left side of the block and the left side of the element becomes the distance between the right side of the element and the right side of the block.

Report fields (not labels and specials) that touch each other are considered to be one field.

Define Special Field

Define Report Field

To define or maintain a report layout field at the current cursor position. When a report field already has been defined at this position you can modify the field attributes (with option [C]) or delete the report field (with option [D]).

Next Field

Delete Field

To stop drawing a box, move/copy/clear a block, change the window size or select a label area.

Fill Buffer

To store a section of the report in a buffer. One corner of the section is defined by the cursor position when the command is issued. The opposite corner is set by moving the cursor to the appropriate position on the report and repeating the command.

The storage can be canceled by pressing <Esc>[E]. When the storage is canceled the old contents of the buffer remain unchanged.

Fill Buffer

The character which must be pressed in combination with the defined combination of special keys (<Esc>, <Ctrl> or <Esc><Ctrl>) to execute the command. Only a single character can be entered.

Read Buffer

To paste the contents of the buffer, filled using option "Fill Buffer", on a position of the report layout. The current cursor position indicates the top left corner of the area of the buffer.

All text present on the new position of the buffer is removed.

A buffer cannot overwrite a field, if you try the buffer will not be placed.

Read Buffer

The character which must be pressed in combination with the defined combination of special keys (<Esc>, <Ctrl> or <Esc><Ctrl>) to execute the command. Only a single character can be entered.

Show Column/Row No.

To show the current column and row number of the cursor. The numbers are displayed on the status bar. Column and row number are relative to the upper left corner of the window.

Define Label

To define a label on the current cursor position. One corner is defined by the cursor position at command start. The opposite corner is set by moving the cursor to the appropriate position and giving the command again. The Report Label Fields (ttadv3143s000) session is started to define size, name, description and feature codes of the label.

To define and maintain general report data of the current report layout. Refer to the Report Layout Data (ttadv3135s000) session.

First Column

To place the cursor at the first position of the current line within the limits of the report layout.

To move the cursor to the next report layout. This can only be used if there is more than one layout read by the report editor. More layouts can be read using the option "Get Background" or starting up with all layouts.

If the current layout is the last one, the cursor will not be moved.

If changes are made in the current layout, the user is asked if they must be saved before moving the cursor to the next layout.

To move the cursor to the previous report layout. This can only be used if there are more than one layout read by the report editor. More layouts can be read using the option "Get Background" or starting up with all layouts.

If the current layout is the first one, the cursor will not be moved.

If changes are made in the current layout, the user is asked if they must be saved before moving the cursor to the previous layout

Mark Label Field

After selecting a report field a label field can be created with the name of the report field. When the label is present for the indicated area the label will be positioned immediately without zooming to session Report Label Fields (ttadv3143s000) .
