ART Parameters (ttaad6102s000)

Use this session to define Application Response Time (ART) parameters. These parameters, when initialized, generate information about the overall response time of the LN application.

You can use the ART parameters to measure and monitor the performance of the LN application and find any bottlenecks. ART gives you information that helps you tune your application in the best way possible.

The LN software does not process or visualize the data generated by ART; you will need a third-party ARM (Application Response Measurement) tool, such as HP Openview or Tivoli (IBM), to do so.

If a new LN system is installed, you must use this session to indicate for which type(s) of transactions you want to activate ART. You can measure transactions on three levels. Define these levels by filling in the fields in the Measuring Preferences group box.

Field Information

System Description

The name of the LN system, as it is known in the third party ARM tool.

BSE Description

The name of the current LN Software Environment (BSE), as it is known in the third party ARM tool. This field allows you to distinguish between different BSE installations.

Application Transactions

Select this check box to measure transactions that are built in by the 4GL developers in session scripts, DALs, BOIs and 3GL-programs. Note: a transaction can only be measured if ARM calls are included in the transaction. For details on how to incorporate ARM, refer to “Application Response Time Measurement (ARTM) Overview” in the Infor ES Programmers Guide (Infor Customer Portal KB2924522).

All Standard Transactions

If this check box is selected, all standard transactions are measured. These are all transactions measured by the 4GL-Engine when a specific form command is activated.

Specific Standard Transactions

If this check box is selected, you can choose which standard transactions will be measured. Click Choose to start the Standard Transactions Measured with ART (ttaad6101m000) session where you can administer the logging of specific transactions.
