Create Runtime Database Definitions (Tabledef) (ttaad4113s000)

Use this session to make the database definitions available at runtime. Run this session when you have defined the database definitions, and assigned tables to these definitions.

You can create this file on the local database system, but also on the database remote system. This depends on the configuration you have defined in the Database Definitions (ttaad4110s000) session. If only the Database Type field is filled in that session, the table definition file, tabledef6.X, will be created on the database local system. If you also specified a system name on the System Name field, the table definition file will also be created on the remote database system.

If you want to create a remote table definition file, make sure that you have a remote user file for the specified system. The table definition file is only created on a remote database system if it is only used for data-storage purposes. The system must be of the Workstation type. You can maintain systems in the session.

In this session you can specify if the table definition file, $BSE/lib/tabledef6.X, must be created:

  • on the local system
  • on the system with which the system variable $BSE_REM has been filled
  • on other remote systems that are only used for data storage. These systems are called workstations.
