Package Combinations (ttaad1120s000)

Use this session to create or maintain package combinations.

Note: To optimize the performance of the package combination, select the Table Def. in Shared Memory check box for every operational package combination.

Field Information

Package Combination

The code that indicates the package combination.

Description

The description of the package combination.

Table Definition Path

The path leading to the directory dd<package combination>, where the table definitions must be stored. If the path does not exist, Tools will ask whether it must be created.

Table Def. in Shared Memory

Select this check box to put the table definitions and domains of the package combination in the shared memory. When you convert the shared memory data to the run-time data dictionary, the table definitions and domains will be added to the srdd_tab6.2 file in the ${BSE}/lib directory. The srdd_init6.2 program uses this file to load the data definitions and domains into the shared memory.

The shared memory is a part of physical memory intended for common use. Programs communicate with each other through the shared memory, which results in faster access to the components loaded in shared memory. Before you start the application, you must start and initialize and set up the shared memory.

In addition to the table definitions and domains, report objects and program objects can also be loaded into shared memory. To load these components, you must use the Shared Memory Data (ttaad4156m000) session.

Note:

This check box is automatically selected and becomes read-only, if report objects or program objects of the package combination are defined in the Shared Memory Data (ttaad4156m000) session.

For performance reasons, you must select this check box for every operational package combination.
