Event Subscriptions (tlbct5500m000)

Use this session to view and maintain subscriptions to event publishing services.

To start this session go to Tools > Integration Tools > Event Publishing.

This session shows the subscriptions to event publishing services, which are available in the LN application. These services are referred to as publishers.

The subscriptions are specific to a business object of a particular LN company. All fields are presented in a read-only mode, so you can only view the subscription properties. To edit a subscription, you use the Subscribe (tlbct5220m000) session.

For more information on subscriptions to event publishing services, refer to help topic How to subscribe to an event publishing service.

This session has a details mode and an overview mode.

Overview session

The Event Subscriptions (tlbct5500m000) session starts in the overview mode. The overview mode can contain multiple Event Subscription records, which show these fields:

  • Company
  • Business Object
  • Event Consumer
  • Destination
  • Publisher Status

For a description of these fields, see the field help. To view the subscription records from another company, specify the number of this company in the Event Subscriptions - Find dialog box (on the Edit menu, click Find).

In the overview mode, you can start other sessions from the Specific menu to stop or start publishers, to check the current status of publishers and to create or edit subscriptions. To start these sessions for the selected subscription, use these commands:

  • Check and Continue Publishing
  • Start/Stop Publishing
  • Subscribe
  • Unsubscribe

For a more detailed description of these commands, see Actions/References/Buttons.

In the overview session, double-click a subscription to start the details session for this subscription.

Details session

The details session shows the complete configuration of a single event subscription. This session has separate tabs for the Subscription data, the Publisher data, and the Technical Details data:

  • The Subscription tab contains the properties of the selected subscription. For a more detailed description, see the Subscribe (tlbct5220m000) session.
Note: A subscription is identified by the business object and the LN company to which this business object belongs. In a specific LN company, it is therefore not possible to create multiple subscriptions for one business object.
  • The Publisher tab contains the properties of the event publishing service (publisher) of the current subscription.
  • The Technical Details tab contains the metadata of the Business Interface that provides the event publishing service.

Actions/References/Buttons

These options are available:

Check and Continue Publishing
Starts the Check and Continue Publishing (tlbct5200m000) session. In this session, you can check the status of all available event publishing services (publishers).
Start/Stop Publishing
Starts the Start/Stop Publishing (tlbct5210m000) session. In this session, you can start or stop event publishing services of a specified range of subscriptions. When you stop a publishing service, the status publisher status becomes 'Paused'.
Subscribe
Starts the Subscribe (tlbct5220m000) session. In this session, you can create and edit subscriptions.
Unsubscribe
Deletes the selected subscription.

You are asked to confirm the removal of the subscription. After confirmation, LN sends a unsubscribe request to the business object and subsequently informs you about the result. Among other things, the result will depend on authorization settings and dependency constraints.

Caution:
After the unsubscribe command is carried out, the operation will be permanent. You cannot undo the command.
Check Process
Check the status of the current event publishing process.
Pause Process
Temporarily stops the current publisher. The status of the publisher changes to 'Paused'. This means that all occurring events remain in a queue and are not processed until the publisher is reactivated.

The command only applies to running publishers.

Reactivate Process
Starts the current publisher. The publisher continues at the point where it was paused (or stopped because of an error). So, it will first process the backlog of events that are waiting in the queue before processing new events.

The command applies to paused publishers and to publishers with status Error or Interrupted.
